@biohacker if you want, check out that pdf I posted that shows flux grown rubies in lead oxide have significant lead. flux is the most expensive method. I never denied that. the only way cheap was brought in, is that many cheap rubies have lead glass as a filler. if he's not doing it in house...

if you use lead oxide to make your sapphire via flux or there is lead glass fillers...not going to help you. lead concern was something other than the doping agents for ruby / saph.

it wouldn't require you to sublime the entire gemstone to off gas would it? even if it was completely non-porous. regardless, I sincerely doubt these synthetics are made via flux with lead however we have no clue... personally Ti isn't more "harsh" than other surfaces at the same temperatures...

agreed on the opaque. I think the best functioning will either be frosted dark red (ruby) on one end of the wavelength spectra, or frosted ultraviolet / indigo at the opposite end. still holding off on even touching mine till i know more :[

CCA710 and dnail both sell saph for their own enails. W/ dnail the insert is meant to sit in their head (30 mm OD) so it fits in a 30 mm banger fine. other than that, I don't know anyone.
