VapCap Induction Heater for Desktop and in Car Use

Re: the idea to use a mod box to drive the induction heater. Could the problem be in the type of load that the mod box sees? A normal atomizer is (mostly) a resistive load. The induction heater is an inductive load. Even more so during switch-on and switch-off. Maybe a "soft start/close" may help?

Thanks. All clear, just trying to understand.

VapCap Induction Heater for Desktop and in Car Use

Isn't it possible to use higher voltages? Like 110...230 Volt ? I mean: - the coil works on mains voltage - controlled by a FET, the gate of which is driven by a low voltage circuit (some form of wave chopping or high frequency PWM) That way, both the low voltage part and the mains part only...

The Bud Toaster - (currently: Model 14, version 3)

Thanks for the update, @Hippie Dickie . Regarding federal law (USA, I suppose?), could you learn anything from other producers? Some are based in the USA, right? If I'm beating a very dead horse, just ignore this post, I'm a newbie here.

The Bud Toaster - (currently: Model 14, version 3)

Hippie Dickie, I appreciate the Cube concept. An idea for bringing it to the market: you might offer it as a kit, perhaps? Maybe even explicitly sold "as is"? Would save you a lot trouble in production, not to mention returns and repairs. Just a thought. Keep up the good work

Partner concerned with amount of vaping

Thanks for the link. Kind of silly report. Literally the first sentence in the chapter on cannabis is: "Similarly to other addictive drugs, fewer females than males use marijuana..." Note the totally unnecessary adjective addictive. In the chapters on alcohol and nicotine, neither the word...

Partner concerned with amount of vaping

My partner does not do herbs, but reluctantly accepts me using it. She knows that my alternative is alcohol, which I tend to go overboard with. We did have discussions in the past though. Here is my list for success, just reporting what works for me. 1- I only vape in the evening. 2- I make...

    CBD ?

I have experience with: 1- Indoor weed, high THC (let's say THC 4:0 CBD) . Every strain on the market here (afaik) is high in THC and (very) low in CBD. 2- Indoor hash, made of these strains (let's say THC 4:0 CBD) 3- Moroccan hash. This feels like it has more CBD (THC 4:1 CBD ??? ) 4-...

    DIY Bulli Vaporizer

Thanks fur the other thoughts as well Pipes. One advantage for portable use would be that shorts or uneven thickness of the heater coil is not a problem. The "coil" construction could thus be way easier: simply put some metal wires/ mesh/wool/sticks in a glass tube. My mother could do that...

    DIY Bulli Vaporizer

Maybe mesh is better heated through induction heating? Then ohms and short cuts matter less than resistivy and surface (the currents tend to run on the surface). Plus, surface should be large anyway, so that is a win-win.

VapCap Induction Heater for Desktop and in Car Use

Arduino, yes! Actually I dream about DIY vapes with Arduinos. Really steampunk would be a butane powered vape that is controlled by an Arduino. Think a Daisy with valves. If you fire with too much enthusiasm, the "hot air" valve is closed a bit and the "cool air" valve opens...A bit like the...

VapCap Induction Heater for Desktop and in Car Use

If you are afraid to miss the click, you might use a (laser?) thermometer, a timer or a thermo couple that switches off the heater when a certain temperature is reached. Just thinking out loud here.

VapCap Induction Heater for Desktop and in Car Use

Don't know if this is the right place to post but here it goes. How about a combination of: - the Supreme vaporizer - the Vapcap induction heater - the Project The idea: you heat up the perforated steel tip to say 300 °C (=570 °F), using an induction heater (not in the picture). If you...

    DIY Bulli Vaporizer

Regarding coil material: I came across an e-cigarette project where they used stainless steel mesh as coil material. Can't find the webpage  but they rolled up a piece of SS mesh, and used that roll to form a coil. Did anybody experiment with this?

    DIY Bulli Vaporizer

    - Does the Bulli have anything over other RDA's ? - What should an RDA have or not have for our purposes? I see lots of RDA's that have air holes that may be placed too high. We want the air to go through the coils, not to pass over it, right?

Tinnitus: that sound inside the head

Either you have had it for long but somehow ignored it, or it just started. Tinnitus is a complex thing. Herre is what I understand from it: the problem is not in the ear but in the brain. Basically the brain is filling in sounds. So we have a faulty reaction of the brain to the signal that the...
