    Oldest vaporizers

Built my first in '89 - car cig lighter in a box with variable volt power supply. Was a nice novelty - friends loved it, terrible performance.

    Vaporizing Tobacco (not e-cigs)

I tend to use a bit of pg in there too cause 'why not'. Solubility beyond basic chem (polar, non-polar) is beyond me. The glycering has alcohol groups, so afaik is mildly polar. Anywhoo I love the smell of fresh glycerine-pipe-tobacco in the morning! (note, this is too 'wet' still, more...

    Vaporizing Tobacco (not e-cigs)

I suspect that the glycerin dissolves some of the nicotine (among other things), then when vaped atomizes it at lower temps than straight tobacco.

I did, then I inhaled less the next time. Didn't seem to be a problem. Thanks for the link. [EDIT] The products you link have insufficient descriptions for me. How many grams tobacco is it? What are the varieties used? How are they cured? Are there additives? Might just be the cheapest...

    Vaporizing Tobacco (not e-cigs)

I am curious to try it. Can you share a URL link? Right now I am favoring Bentley - The Oriental Amber. The ability to get more nicotine by vaping is, I believe, the main thing that helped me quit smoking. Edit: Might as well add something useful to the post: Here a study found NNK in the...

    Vaporizing Tobacco (not e-cigs)

Well the taste of vaped tobacco is... amazing. Once you get your favorite tobacco varities and pg/vg coating down. The TSNA issue is one we should be looking at ameliorating. I'll collect links here as I find them. Here's one amazing chart from a recent study. Quantities of NNK in 15...

    The DAVINCI IQ

Oh yeah, there's no removable screen between chamber and air-freshener-space. It's like 5 holes in the ceramic. Which get plugged. No wire seems strong enough to unplug them So i figured: Time to get out the dremel. Of course the ceramic made short work of the bit, but now i have a bit...

    The WISPR vaporizer

Nothing really against the Whispr 2. I'm not selling mine. It just runs a bit too hot with the tobacco for my taste. Here's an attempt at a color comparison. In reality it looks quite a bit darker but my good camera broke. Someday i'll do a better comparison with all results in one...

    Vaporizing Tobacco (not e-cigs)

What ratio of water to VG do you need to make it sprayable? What kind of sprayer?

    Vaporizing Tobacco (not e-cigs)

Thanks for the information! I also don't expect there's a 1:1 correlation, which is why a 'fortified' snu-like tobacco @ 40+mg/g is likely to deliver more nicotine per TSNA than average. Sadly, snus seem to be illegal in Europe, except for Sweden. I'll post links if I find some legal...

    Vaporizing Tobacco (not e-cigs)

The average snus seem to have around 14-20mg/gram Nicotine. If what I read is correct pipe tobacco is also in that range. How do snus have lowest TSNAs? I do see some snus with up to 48mg/g, which could help break the cigarette habit without going through 6 18650s a day.

    The DAVINCI IQ

This is not the vibrator/buzzer that indicates temperature. It sounds like electric crackling. Intermittent. On about 2 minutes, off again a minute. [EDIT] And since I'm not the first person to report it, I'm surprised at your response. [EDIT2] Just turned it on again to test, and the...

    The DAVINCI IQ

Does the quiet buzzing/crackling sound indicate a unit in need of repair? Mine does it intermittently.

    The WISPR vaporizer

Not a huge fan of black ABV. Otherwise, butane is great. A very sensible energy source.

    The WISPR vaporizer

It can be cycled manually, which gives fair results. Still would prefer a lower temp bimetal switch

    The WISPR vaporizer

Just bought the whispr 2. Too hot for tobacco. Though the hits are tolerable. Any ideas on tuning it for lower temps?

    The DAVINCI IQ

I think all that's a needed is a tiny battery wired in parallel with the battery terminals. When inserted, the 18650 battery keeps it charged, and tiny spare holds up the voltage during swaps. It's a very compact unit so there's no space.... except for that useless flavor chamber... that could...

    Discontinued The Oracle Infrared Vaporizer

I've also wanted to experiment with infrared and request here that any of you with an Oracle (working or defective) could share with me me any info on the IR heat source used. Were they LEDs? If so what wavelength(s)? Anyone got a minute to open theirs up and take a picture of the heating...

    The DAVINCI IQ

I tried keeping the usb-charger plugged in while opening battery door, but It forgot the settings anyway. This really, really hurts, as the tobacco vapers will not want to re-set their device preferences 5+ times a day. Afaict, all that's needed is to hold up 3.7 or so volts between the...

    The DAVINCI IQ

Just evaluating the IQ here and when i swap batteries, it forgets all the user settings: LED brightness, preferred mode (Smartpath vs Fixed temp) and the respective temp settings. For a tobacco vaper who goes through several batts in a day, this is a big minus. I assume this is because the...
