Do you take the wicks/cotton out beforehand or is it okay to reclaim the oil from them as well?

Thanks everyone for this thread. I've got some PEG400 ordered and after I've tried that I'll order some Terpenes. Is it possible to use a solvent to reclaim oil left behind in atomizers? Has anyone tried this? Is it worth it?
