1) Diffusion within the anatomical deadspace is minimal at best; stagnant air, under pressure for short period of time.
2) The hemoglobin within the blood picks up O² pretty quickly, but since it is moving quickly also, it does not "fill up" at one alveoli and move on, it picks it up O²...
