I tried the straw method once and failed miserably, so my trick is a tic-tac container. I put the ground herb in the container and just open the flip top and tap it right in to the bowl. For me it works well and is really convenient too.

Good to know. My iolite has been working everyday though. A few weeks ago, I took it down to about 1500ft and then brought it back home (~7K ft) and it has worked consistently. Idk if it matters, but before and after I changed drastic elevation with it, I made sure it was empty of butane.
