I thought about that too. On the underside of the cap, there is a "shelf" around the inside that sits directly on the cup. If you were to change the height of the center thread, the cap would indeed be higher, but it would rest on the top of the thread and not create the seal that it does now...

I was under the impression that the "Auber" nail was a knock off Infinity nail. Same size dishes, etc. My HE cap fits that perfectly without any coil contact. I'm not sure why his cap touches, but mine doesn't. :2c:
