    MaxVapor E-Nail - 2018 Version

Reminder that JCat's FCEnail is still a thing, he is still active. Wish I could have continued my HexNail projects but was asked not to.

They shut down the server, so your only option right now is AP-only, unless you make some local dns changes. To do so you'll need to flash a new image to your SD card (backup first, or use a new card). You can find a tut here: Hex-Nail (HN-01) - RIP Sorry I've been MIA everyone; my issue in...

@ensabbahnur If you're on Linux or OSX, the easiest way would be with dd, though I cannot promise you won't rek your SD card: sudo dd bs=4M status=progress if=/dev/sdX of=/some/dir/hn01.img Replace sdX with the tag corresponding to the SD card. If you're on Windows, check out Win32 Disk Imager...

Thank you for the kind words, everyone. I got the image finished up: https://mega.nz/#!jcxlgKoS!kph6_HrUNripEptfQd3SJajGZafxkXwdKaAPaC3aPMk I suggest using Etcher to write that to a card: https://www.balena.io/etcher/ That image contains the partition table; using that image along with...

@YabbaDABBAdo It worked for you at first due to browser caching; it's definitely down. @friedpiper I'm still going to be making a release intended for DIY units, but the upload I'll be making later today will work on any RQ unit; OG or DIY. I'll post that there later on. For now my priority is...

Hey yall, thanks for the heads up. I've reached out to them so many times over the past few months, and they have had numerous opportunities to respond. Due to their lack of correspondence, and the server being shut down, I'll prepare a dirty image of a working install so you can flash that and...

@exmex I'll make a better guide next week; been a busy week and I got a full weekend this weekend.

I spoke too soon, I won't have a release by the end of the weekend. Perhaps by next weekend.

@scalescliffs @anrchy666 I'm now in possession of an HN-01 thanks to @Samson so I'll do more research on it over the next week. I'll keep you in the loop. The craftsmanship on the HN-01 is way better than HN-02, idk what happened. Still not great, but definitely better. Edit: Got the official...

I have no idea if it will be done automatically or not, but I assume that's their intention. I tested out the INSTALL button and everything, with a card that was flashed back to an unmodified state from Aug 12, and got nothing. Maybe it was a timed provisioning sequence, not sure, haven't...

For people that do own an HN-02 (I can't confirm or provide steps for HN-01 until I get a RasPi3B), all they need to do is gain terminal/tty/cli access to their device and do the following: cd /opt/nail wget https://devices.hex-nail.com/dist/hexnail_controller/rq2/stable/hexnail-2.1.1.tar.gz...

Quick update, I started testing out deployment of the hexnail suite on a fresh install of armbian on both xenial and bionic (on the Orange Pi, haven't tried RasPi's at all yet), and this weekend I'll be making a repo and a tutorial for those who wish to try it out. I might release it without the...

There are some other one-offs as well, but the best bet IMO would be to reach out to @maxvapor710 about ordering a custom unit with a touchscreen. In regard to the community project, the confusing stuff is regarding an original implementation that is not based on the hex-nail software stack...

Alright so I had a MUCH easier time diagnosing the issue with a RasPi rather than the Orange Pi. Everything I was using for testing just worked. It was a wiring issue, and I'll update my diagram later tonight. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Now it's time to test out some of the hardware I bought...

I've tested two different TC chips now, and I'm fairly certain that the issue is wiring. I'm not capable of writing original code to work with the chip on the OPi. Unless you have a way to compile something for the OPi using a 31856 library, we're just shooting in the dark. All of the libraries...

In the hexnail app it isn't reading. How do I go about checking? I've been pulling my hair out trying to get max31856 examples compiled/running on the device but pretty much everything I've found is made for Arduino or RasPi. I'm wondering if I should abandon the OPi and pick up a RasPi3B...

Looks like the update ended up on my HN-02 and updated, but the changes aren't shown in the webapp. So even though it shows no progress on the webapp it may have downloaded and ran the update. I wasn't monitoring at the time so I'm not sure. Maybe I'll flash an old backup and check later...

Haven't read anything since I last posted pretty much so I don't have comments on anything (yet). Can someone take a look at this and tell me where the hell I'm going wrong? https://image.ibb.co/mP9JeU/WP_20181007_10_05_32_Pro.jpg https://image.ibb.co/d19jKU/WP_20181007_10_05_11_Pro.jpg...

@KeroZen @Stu As of my short conversation with Brandon (TeamRosin) yesterday, they are still intending on pushing out an update to our devices, HN-01 and HN-02, so I wouldn't necessarily call this dead in the water just yet. IMO we should keep this open at least until they shut down their AWS...

@nickmo No, I haven't had any luck either. When you're on the settings page it fetches https://devices.hex-nail.com/dist/hexnail_controller/rq2/latest_version.txt but it doesn't update a few variables that I presume are used to grab the update file. I see that even though it fetches that link...
