I've got a flavor oil kit and love it. Just a word to the wise: I'd leave it on and let the nail heat up for a while before dabbing, I think mine must have had some nasty factory shit coating it because the first couple of hits tasted/smelled awful and a bit metallic. It hits nicely now though :)
SSV is a much bigger hitter than either the EQ or Solo (from someone who's tested all three, relentlessly).
Solo hits quite well for a portable though. They're all good units, Arizer and 7th Floor are good companies, can't really go wrong.
@Rayvon
Far as the hands-free plate with the standard wand goes: I ended up bending the plate. The arms are quite malleable with some pliers. I ended with the arms bent quite far in on the bottom and splayed out as they got closer to the top. TBH I don't use the HF anymore.
For thicker hits...
AV birthed my SSV too :) They're usually a bit more expensive than ordering overseas but the service and post is excellent. Nothing but great experiences ordering from them.
Gratz on the new heavy hitter btw :D :rockon:
Gratz @Unconnected. I got my SSV around the same time as my friend got his EQ. Even as a vapor noob I could see that the SSV was the far superior vaporizer. Bigger hitter with better taste. I don't care for bags so I never thought twice about the extra $50 or so I spent over this cost of his...
Here in Australia people tend to spin their weed. ie. mix it with tobacco when it's ground/chopped up. Also generally about 50/50. It burns more easily that way and when you punch a cone you get a bit of head spin. It was one of the reasons I had such a tough time quitting cigarettes. Graduating...
Haha, as embarrassed as I am to admit it, I've done all of this and more. I would exclusively "spin" my cones with tobacco. I'd hit them through a wonky plastic bottle/garden hose bong. I stored one of these nasty bongs in a cupboard over a period of a few months without cleaning or changing the...
@mmenzie @KidFated. Doesn't the DBV's knob pop off when you pull it back? I believe you can then replace the knob in any direction you choose. This enables you to align your preferred temperature and dial position (favourite temp set at 12:00, for example)
So I just got a flavor oil kit.... how do you use this thing? Didn't come with any instructions. Do you connect hose to the oil wand and that to a bubbler? Because I'm having a hard time fitting hose to the end of it...
Edit: Managed to get a bit of hose into it and ran it thru a bubbler. Just...
Premiering the SSV microphone-style tool! (on my shit-covered desk) :) Gonna have to give it a trial before replacing my bubblers, but so far, so good. No drag whatsoever on the PNHT
