As a regular user of rosin is it worth it to winterize?
Any thoughts on yields of winterized rosin vs winterized QWET using the same starting material?
what you describe sounds more or less normal to me, when I hear about 20%+ yields I am usually skeptical, its probably waxes and crap beefing up the numbers
If good weed has 15% THC how can you get 20% THC yield from it?
ok fair enough but I would love to hear what @herbivore21 has to say about the inner globe's metal base being attached to the glass housing with a thick ring of what appears to be household silicone of unknown origin that comes into direct contact with the reclaimed ethanol for the duration of...
hey man I am not trying to insult you but considering your admitted close relationship with the manufacturer, near identical website name as the reseller that went out of business and sudden expertise in chemistry something just doesnt make sense here
and you never mentioned you got a new unit...
a few posts back @IchiBanCrafter seemed relatively clueless about the internals and had no idea how hot his source was running (140F) and now he is a chemist and his source no longer runs at 140F !?!?!?!?
again, not an expert but from my understanding only flowers get pucked, its to make the surface area uniform for squishing.
something in an envelope is already "pucked" by the envelope itself
This is the exact press I have so I say get this one :), those black X base plates you see in this pic are fucking expensive when purchased stanalone so if the other one does not come with them you should factor that in to your decision
I cant help you with this press or anything but if you are just pressing flowers I wouldnt worry too much about progressive pressure as it's probably the least of your issues if it is even an issue at all
I am no expert just a guy with 3x3 12 ton and I typically press 220-260F for like 20 seconds and use a cold pack or frozen dinner package as a base to collect on if it's gooey
Also I press 1.5 grams flower at a time and puck the flowers with a 3/4" hash press before extraction
Those plates you linked say they are for 1 ton press, beware
I have that HF press, got it of Craigslist :)
I went with 3x3 plates kit from 710snob for like $425 and free shipping with their coupon
No complaints
not arguing against your points at all but maybe since it is based on a mass produced arbor press (even if it is not the best one) replacing only the press itself if it broke would be easy (for the relatively lazy presser)?
maybe OP is talking about rosin oil buddering that happens to rosin when it sits for a day or two, if there is a way around this I would be interested as well
- have you tested the crucible at different stages with a digital thermometer and does it stay at the low temperature range of <120F as advertised?
- I saw an post by you last year somewhere that I think said you thought it was not possible to make shatter with this device, is that still your...
