Rick, has the variable transformer progressed past the conceptual stage? I'm pretty excited about it but if its not going to happen I'll have to make one myself.

Is this something I could splice in myself using a rheostat? What values would I need? EDIT: Thinking more about this, I'd have to lower the resistance of the transformer itself to get to 10v -- which isn't something easy to do.
