    Crafty/Crafty+ by Storz & Bickel

While my Crafty was charging today, I used my Pax for the first time in about two months. OMG, the Pax kind of sucks compared to the crafty! It's only apparent to me now after only using the Crafty for the past month. I had been using the Pax off and on for two years... Taste, quality of vapor...

No, the Crafty has a 2700 MAH and the best on the market for a 18650 size battery is a 3400 MAH Panasonic. So a 25% difference between the two. Not really worth scrapping a warranty to swap out yourself, but after 2 years id say give it a try if you have soldering skills.

3400 mah vs 2900 mah, MAH is the battery's energy capacity. So a 20% difference.

Actually, I found some 3400 Mah 18650's released in 2012 which I think still hold true as the best. http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-NCR18650B-3400mAh-Rechargeable-Batteries/dp/B00DHXY72O

If the Crafty just had a replaceable battery like a common TV remote control, but with a much nicer door and lock mechanism, it would be truly perfect. It seems the Crafty's 2700 Mah German batteries have slightly less capacity, around 25% less than the best, which I research to be the 3400 Mah...

No, I wedged it open slightly like a sub roll because I didn't want the bottom sticker to come off! I only got a peek. Was hoping I wasn't one of the first people here to look into switching to a higher capacity battery.

4 hours of crafty usage so far and I love this thing, I'm on v 2.05. Minus the sub-par battery live and 3 bowl max, it hits as hard or better than most home units. The 2 amp usb 2.0 limitation doesn't help charging time and there is not a true pass through charging ability, but this thing rocks...

    Discontinued Pax Vaporizer by Ploom

Yes, the NCR18650A that you have is rated at 3100mah, while the NCR18650B is rated at 3400mah. The B is the newest they offer. Both have top of the line power though, and the difference between them is only about 10% capacity.

    Discontinued Pax Vaporizer by Ploom

Yeah, my new pax just wasn't up to par to my old pax that i sent in because it was defective. A little less battery life on my new replacement pax was more of a pain that something another warranty would cover. That's when i decided to upgrade myself to my new NCR18650B and solder that baby in...

    Discontinued Pax Vaporizer by Ploom

Ok, so i went ahead and bought an unprotected NCR18650B battery with tabs on ebay for $16. I then opened the pax with a t-4 torx screwdriver, took out my wire snippers, cut the pax where the wire meets the battery's tab x2, I then just soldered the new battery in on each wire, making sure to...

    Discontinued Pax Vaporizer by Ploom

I have had the Pax for 3 months. Love it - I quit smoking. I am looking for help in swapping out the stock battery with a brand new Panasonic 18650 3400 mah li-ion battery (Pax's stock is 2600 mah). This new battery is noted as being the strongest in the world for its size. I received a...
