Then I'm confused again. What keeps the plant material from falling onto the heating element, if there's no screen between them?

So, the plant material goes directly on top of the heat element, then the stem goes on top of that .. I can smell it, but no smoke when I hit it. Update: We have smoke! Now I just have to figure out how to use all these accessories that came with it.

My UD arrived today. It's so beautiful! Only thing is, I don't know how to use it. LOL <---newbie Where does the plant material go? I checked out a couple of Youtube reviews, but they didn't go over that part. Is there an illustrated step by step somewhere? Thanks! Catherine
