FWIW, man? I hate the battery issue with a burning passion, but it has not made put down the FF2 yet. I feel like it's a very niche vaporizer, and I kinda feel like it might be the wrong tool for quite a few jobs, and I'd never want one as my only vape... But I still kinda love it?

This all day!!! Would not work for my only vape, but it is sweet as hell at what it does. Its perfect for a little tap up back to cloud level. Works best for me when the bowl is full and I have to stir. I tried the loose bowl not full pack ,but the vapor production is under par for me. When the bowl is full I can get big vapor off 6 or 7 second hits, and monster clouds at 10 secs or more. Usually start on medium 4 hts, 6 to 8 hits on med high, and then bump it up to high 4 or 6 more to cash out the bowl. Super efficient.

From what I was able to gather, The FF2 and Pax 2 both have their own benefits when it comes to discreetness. Mainly, the pax 2 is very smelly when in use, but looks nothing like a vape. The FF2 is very obvious and proud of what it is, but with a smoke buddy has virtually no scent. My question is as someone looking to buy a vape for use in the dorm, or car in the lot before going out and about, which "style" of discreet would reduce my chances of getting caught? I'm on a smoke free campus so both are "not allowed" on campus according to the University.

WOW!! I just removed the little metal screen from the mouthpiece..and Ka-BOOOOOOOM! Big clouds....and much easier draw........Hmmm....I'll experiment a bit more and let you know my findings....
I'm a hand tearer when I pack, and took out screen from mouthpiece three weeks ago and have never looked back. I have eaten zero bud bc of LSD so that's not a concern. To me it's an add on device that serves a purpose but not a necessity. It hits way better this way IMO and I implore you guys to try it.....if you find it restrictive

I have tried this, totally accidentally. I was cleaning the mouthpiece, didn't realize I had knocked out the screen with a brush, replaced it...and wow, was super-impressed with both cloud production and lack of draw restriction. Then I noticed I was pulling debris in my mouth with regularity, and realized what I had done.

I definitely recommend FF owners try it at least once and see how they like it. For those of you looking for more cloud-like vapor, and/or have issues with draw restriction, it's worth a shot, though as noted you need to draw very evenly and carefully to avoid pulling stuff into your mouth.

Anybody received an order in the UK yet? Any updates?

Been waiting for a long time, and the major local sellers don't really have a clue about arrival date. :ugh:

Won't you be swallowing little pieces of bud at the end of the day all the pieces that get blocked by the screen would get in your throat
I didn't get anything in my mouth with coarse grind....and with a slow slow draw...no debris..at least not last night...

If you fill your bowl 90% and tamp slightly down....no debris comes out..at least that is what I have experienced.....have you ever been experienced?

Hello folks,
I have unexpectedly been pulled back into this forum.

To recap, I was someone who tried to use the vape without any herbs on Med-High until the chemical taste goes away, which it doesn't.

I was just about to do a chargeback, when much to my surprise, their COO and Marketing VP had contacted me on the phone (!?)

He said @mitchgo61 (who they were quite appreciative of) had alerted them to the discussion that I've been having here regarding the chemical taste.

For them to be calling me, I got the sense this was an emergency triage call to get in front of any possible PR problem that I may have generated on this board, and told him as much.

I expressed how appreciative I was of his call, even if it turns out that they could not provide me with a unit that was as low-chemical tasting as I required.

Main points I was told:
- They have a very small staff of 6. (If I recall correctly, I think that does not include their customer support staff however)
- That their customer support staff who I originally spoke to needs training.
- They said it was incorrect for them to tell me it was normal to smell some "manufacturing oils" and they should not have said to just start using it anyway despite the chemical taste.
- They said that only approximately 3% (I forget the exact % it might have been as high as 4%) of the units are suffering from the chemical taste problem that I experienced.
- They know the cause of the smell
- They have "changed the cleaning fluid"
- They have some new tests that "tests the air draw being consistent"
- That they are "now able to get rid of any residual smells"
- "No units should smell"
- New units that use this process are not yet available (I think he said in July?)
- They were very very appreciative of the FC community, and thanked me and the rest of FC for being early adopters and taking the chance with them
- He was clearly excited about the vape discussing things to the effect of how it can vape at such precise temperatures in a novel way

For my problem they are:
- Sending out a replacement
- Indicated that this replacement will not yet use the new process. I told them that if that is the case, then there is a chance I will still taste the chemical taste. He said I could return it as many times as I needed.
- Issuing a call tag for free return of the chemical tasting unit

I have to say I was quite shocked they would be contacting me. I had written them off that they would act just like any other large company. I am pleasantly pleased to wrong. But I know that would never have happened if I didn't post the the largest vaporizer community on the net, and if @mitchgo61 hadn't personally contacted them and told them whatever he told them. FF indicated they did not read these forums (or at least he himself doesn't).

So thank you @mitchgo61 because we will now get further to the bottom of this situation, I don't have to do a chargeback, and there is a chance I will get a non chemical tasting unit.

Great news...nice to know you aren't crazy claiming the smell and great that they responded to you, have identified the root cause, and have corrected it in their manf process.

Cheers

I think you should add a grasshopper to your short list. And g pen elite (likely the lowest quality of the bunch, but stealthy and not too expensive).

Hi everyone,

for those of you who ordered your FF2 recently (within the past week or so) how long did it take to ship?

I am moving out of my current residence on Friday evening of this week. I ordered my FF2 with overnight shipping, I'm just worried it won't arrive in time. I sent them a ticket saying that the color does not matter, I just need to have it shipped ASAP because of my predicament. I've heard reports of their FF2 shipping the same day they ordered so I am cautiously optimistic. Got any input to calm my nerves?

pahjay,
It's doing this every time, on every hit, after only 10 seconds? The auto shutoff should be around 30....10 is not right. (Jay is correct, you can re-press every 7 or 8 seconds and get extended draws this way, but you shouldn't have to do that as a workaround.)

Try the following....

1. Put in the other battery and charge it fully.
2. Change the heat setting in the app (put it on Hiigh if you haven't already).

See if either of those helps. Let us know!

So I have been using it on high, and now the issue has sort of evolved. Now, after sitting for a while the blinking green light will work for the first draw, then for subsequent draws the light will just go green solid instantly. I have charged both batteries and tried them.

I am also getting little to no vapor despite trying different coarsenesses of a grind, even on the high setting. I did get the unit to work very well with concentrates though, so Im not sure what the issue is.

I ordered mine last Saturday night...Monday was a holiday..They processed order on Tuesday and shipped ground FedEx out of Las vegas and it arrived Friday morning at 9:30... You will get it in plenty of time if you requested next day shipping....

That's normal behavior. The green light only pulses on the first hit or two of a cold unit...once warmed up, subsequent hits will start with a solid green. (But you should be getting glow, somewhat, and heat, a lot, during these hits. Are you saying you're getting a solid green but no heating?)

If you are getting heating while the light is solid, I'm not sure why you're having trouble getting vapor. Make sure the lid and mouthpiece are on correctly and sealed properly. You can try taking out the mouthpiece screen...seems to be a pretty good way of increasing vapor production for some people.

I think it is a sealing issue, when I press down on the lid pretty hard I can drfinitely get noticeably more vapor but still not much, just something visible. I am frustrated because Im not even feeling any of the effects that I have experienced with my Vapir NO2. The unit is definitely heating though. I emailed firefly about this so hopefully they will be willing to send me a new lid.

Has there been anyone that has solved the sealing problem previously on this thread without a new lid? I couldnt fond much...

Firefly might offer you the option to send them your unit for testing, but all they did was send me some tips and videos.

You can contact them, but my best suggestion would be to change your draw. You say you aren't feeling any effects, Is your material turning brown? I think the draw speed has the biggest effect on the vapor production. I've gotten into the habit of "pre-heating" before I take a hit as well (for about 5 seconds). I also started removing my finger and re-pressing the button mid hit. Using this method, I can get pretty good clouds on med-low (depending on material.)

I've also heard some speculation that the unit requires a little bit of a "break in" period. I wouldn't discount this since I've noticed better cloud production in the last week or so. I think changing my draw has had an impact , but it's tough to say since I haven't changed my technique too much.

Hopefully I explained all that well enough. If it was confusing let me know and I'll try to articulate a little better.

Edit: Looong Slow/medium draws are whats suggested for best results. Some folks around here refer to them as LSD(s).

I think if your vape is not seated correctly you can tell because the air just flows too strong and it is not restricted at all. If you pack too tight it becomes very restricting. Just right the Vape works with you and the air flows nicely.

Technique wise I usually count to about 15 inhaling slowly and pick up the inhale in last 5-10 seconds ending with a whistle. You should start feeling the vapor enter your lungs around 15 seconds (at least for me)

Lastly cleaning wise I have baby wipes around and they work wonderfully for wiping down the FF...

I hope this is helpful to people getting poor vapor production

Also taking screen out of mouth piece helps with restriction but at least give it a cleaning. Stuff gets stuck there from even one packing of too fine herb.

I ordered on the 25th, live in Ca where Firefly is located, but have not received it yet. How are all these people getting theirs when ordered days after me? Are they only shipping certain colors right now? If they are, wish I would have known which color to order. Waiting doesn't upset me, but when folks who ordered after me get theirs first, it tends to bother me. wtf.

If I had to guess, I would say that it's the color you ordered. They've been staggered and dependent on color since the first pre-orders started going out. I can understand why it would bother you, but it's not new and it's been at least somewhat documented in this very thread.

I am actually starting to get improving results! The picking up on the inhale for the last 5 seconds is seemingly making a large difference, I think I was taking the LSD thing too seriously and being too slow actually, lol. Getting some nice tasting draws on medium high!
