next generation e-nails?

Also, how does an enail compare to the dabado or portable erig like that? I'm not a heavy dabber so now
I'm leaning towards that as my only reason for looking at an enail is Mainly avoiding the hassle of a torch.

The titanium shell has two functions. First, it disperses the heat evenly across the banger and second it protects the banger from breakage. With the typical e nail banger you need to remove the coil during cool down or risk the banger being crushed as the coil cools. The titanium shell on the turtle banger easily slides on and off the banger when hot, cold, heating and cooling.

The turtle banger works at super low temps compared to the quartz halo. It's crazy and unexpected. I have it set at 625 F right now and it's producing thick super tasty hits. It doesn't handle globs like ceramic does but it's definitely my most flavor nail right now and handles bigger dabs than the quartz halo at 685 F.

Can't wait to compare the Liger w/ SiC insert with the SiC halo.

@slowandsteady the Hyman coil is great. Coiled perfectly with a very flexible 6" cable.

Edit: @DMPesso check out High5 vape enails. Their cheap kits work great out of the box and come with a coil of your choice. Then you can add your nail of choice to the controller/coil. So for a lot cheaper than that mininail you could get the High5 with either a D-Nail halo/slim series base/generation 2 carb cap, a Liger v2 with insert and Storm Cell carb cap or whatever nail you like.

Wow man nice! Only $110!! Do you think it's the same as the mininail since that costs 3 times as much? I can't imagine it's the same quality considering it's so cheap!

I'm slightly confused. So the high5 doesn't come with a nail? Can you recommend the cheapest nail that I need? I searched for dnail halo but there were so many options I couldn't figure out what I NEEDED

For cheapest I'd say go with the UNSLOTTED domeless.com ceramic nail, the high5 controller and flat coil, and an iDab carb cap. It should come up to just under $200. I run my high5 24/7 quite a bit of the time and haven't had an issue and the pid functions great out of the box. I'm sure the mininail would be great too but iirc they use an Auber pid so $400 seems a bit steep.

I THINK youre mistaken about the ability of Ti shell to protect the banger from the expansion of the coil. Or am I confused and Ti doesnt have a much greater thermal expansion rate than quartz....i have had two turtle bangers break in the last month first from leaving the coil and shell on as it cooled the second from heating to quickly

Interesting. My shell never becomes snug on the banger at all. It's intentionally made larger than the banger so that when expansion and contraction happens it doesn't squish down on the quartz. You should contact Josh.

I didn't even know I could use with a ceramic nail. Even better! So all I need is a regular dome less nail and the flat coil will wrap around it? Is there a specific place it needs to be wrapped and is there a nail that's meant for e nail wrapping or any nail used for dabbing will work?

there was a "manufacturing issue" that has been sorted out that was causing some inserts to crack - from what I read they have good customer service, contact them and hopefully they will sort you out

@DMPesso this auberins unit with flat coil and universal nail is a great deal - delivered for like 170 - you could later on upgrade that base with a sic dish or quartz halo - that is the route I went and would totally do it again

No not any domeless nail will work. That nail is made to work with the 710 whip and flat coils. It has a retaining nut underneath the dish to hold the flat coil in place.
In the video he's using a 710 whip controller and heater but the flat coil will sit exactly how he has the ceramic heating element positioned on the nail.

Have you looked at the 710whip? I would wager that can be had on sale sometime in the holidays, but at worst it is $150 for the whole deal including the nail and their cool ass proprietary carb cap. I love mine to death and could never say enough good things about their customer service going way above and beyond.

Thanks guys the 710 whip sounds like the way to go. There's so many brands it's hard to choose one. Which one is the best cheap one? 710? Seems too good to be true for $150 for everything. I hope it works. Now I see it only gets to 700 degrees but all the other enails I see get to over 1000. Is this 710 whip really worth it? I rather pay more for quality IF I'll get more quality. Not just a name brand

you could get an analog 710 whip - or you could get something much better for not much more money - again the auberins for the money is the best thing you can get as far as features

has a dial to change the temp as opposed to buttons - stays set at the temp you last set it at when you turn it off - has a warning light that shows the unit is hot and the actual temp until it cools down to under 150 and it is the only enail under 200 bux that shows the actual temp as well as the set temp

http://www.auberins.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=45&products_id=459

if you dont want a Ti nail you can get the controller and and flat coil for 130 and buy a ceramic nail for it and still be under 170 all told

I havent used the 710 or the high five - but IMO the best cheap enail is in fact the auberins simply bc of the features and how well it works

mine heats up to 600 in under 3 minutes and runs rock solid - I have it on about 8-12 hours a day every day since august

and no issues with heating it up over 900 to clean your nail either

I have had no issues whatsoever with the 710 whip. It gets plenty hot enough to vaporize whatever strain or consistency of concentrate that I have wanted to use.

I can't answer whether it would be worth it to you regarding digital temp readout and the like. But I can assure you that it will work well for dabbing.

Good luck with your decision!

I don't use my 710 whips much because they don't get hot enough to clean the nail. Once the nail gets gunked up you can turn the heat on any other unit up to 950 F and the build-up burns off in 15 or 20 minutes. If you don't dab much this might now be as big of an issue. The 710 whip is definitely worth it if the heat doesn't bother you.

If you want to go analog with higher heat capabilities this is what I use in my truck on a power inverter and it works great:

Controller
Coil
domeless.com UNSLOTTED nail

and either a dab cap or the iDab carb cap

If you go this route you need to leave a message about the coil telling Darid that you want the pin layout as follows:

pin 1& 2 AC power
pin 3 TC +
pin 4 TC -
pin 5 ground

Should run you about $160. So just over the 710 whip and then you'll have the ability to clean your nail much more easily than with a 710 whip. If that doesn't matter, though, the 710 whip does function perfectly.

Agreed.

This is the route I recently chose.
Having the temperature controlled by a knob is very convenient.
+ the Auber is quite economical.

Spend your money on the nail that you want.
In my case a DNail SiC Halo.
The Liger V2 with SiC insert looks intriging.
I like the looks of the Happy Daddy Genesis.
And the Errlectric has got to be the best control unit and their systems have some great nail options, like the FQN with that sexy dabber, but it's a closed system and quite pricey.

@DrSteez I noticed your posts in the Cheap Glass thread.
Your answers lie within (this thread).

On an unrelated note I would like to give a big shout out to Diane @ D-Nail who facilitated my CYBER15 discount after I had already ponied up the cash for a new slim-line base + SiC Halo + carb-cap and handle.

Stellar customer service.

:D

About the D-nail Slim Series

I don't have enough threads to make it work this way? It sure does look like it was made to fit above coil.

Yeah it does fit together better the other way but that was D-Nail themselves who you are quoting there. I just leave the big washer out of the assembly completely on my slim series as I don't want to mess with the heat distribution and like the nut to thread on a bit more than it does with the washer. It should fit together with the big washer under the coil, though, you just don't have a whole lot of threading to work with that way.

Funny, customer service said the big washer was for persons wanting to use a torch. Did anyone ever mention that? I was stoned.

They must've recently realized that it works better without the big washer in there, too. It's still listed as a heater retainer on the d nail site.

Works awesome as a heater retainer on the HE Infiniti base instead of the small dish.

im about to purchase the highfive enail. I think I have decided on that and all the reviews are stellar and its cheap. So, I'm down :)

quick question though---

what coil size should I get? 16/20mm?

At the moment, I have a very small and shitty pipe bubbler thing that I use for dabs. I also have a very small Ti nail. I'm planning on purchasing the Fc-710 or maybe whatever cleanclearglass is coming out with soon (rattle cans?)

So, what nail should i go for? I'll be honest and say I'm going to probably buy a nail off dhgate. It's significantly cheaper there, and looks like people still buy from there. Unless buying off a site is significantly better with example.

I suppose I'm looking for a quartz and possibly a Ti nail to outfit this enail. Thoughts?/Suggestions?

I have a flat coil and 20mm coil. I like the flat coil the best (mainly because it pairs with the SiC and Quartz Halo) but between 16/20mm coils I don't think it really matters. Almost all nails are offered in both sizes nowadays. I don't even remember why I chose 20mm. Maybe because the nail I wanted to buy for it was out of stock in 16mm? I forget.

Anyways, from dhgate I would stick with quartz only. I'm a little skeptical about the Ti on that site and I like the taste of Quartz better than Ti anyways. However, quartz is more fragile so keep that in mind.

Also you can get Quartz for pretty cheap from faster shipping sites. Dhgate is sometimes slow shipping. I think High 5 has Quartz e-nails for $30.

Speaking of High 5, I am also ordering one soon :) I have the 710 whip at my parents place for when I visit and it has been great, but I want to go digital and to a 20mm coil so I can use some of my unused 20mm nails. They haven't been getting much use lately (because of the SiC), so I wanted to bring them back into the loop.

And I ordered a Quartz halo along with the male and female slim series bodies. Super excited to try them out! Should be here Friday :D

ill look at kathy, steven, cleanclear, hyman and some searches i suppose.

Quartz halo is from D-nail but it costs $100 and you will need a body and the carb cap so it's a little pricy.

I personally like the banger style out of the cheaper Quartz nails, but make sure it has a bar to set the coil rod on. Like the one on High 5 vapes site.

Nail choice is all personal preference though based on what fits your needs best. Out of the affordable nail options, quartz is what I prefer.
