Oils, concentrates...please help me out

I do ISO washes for larger batches and get nice tasty shatter usually, but for on demand ease of use rosin is a daily driver for me. There's a great thread about it in "Concentrates", and I'm happy to post a summary of the process if you need it. Good Luck!


Bud, you can't soak in ISO for that long. It's 30-45 seconds tops for me. That stuff is gonna be chlorophyll soup I think :(

On further investigation I'm only gonna rinse my herbs shortly in the iso. Tho the plan is to do some kind of solvent exchange to combine the final iso product with propelyne glycol so I'm hoping to draw out a few of the water soluble substances in the herb. I'm not sure this is possible with home made equipment but gonna give it a go. Any further info u have on this would be helpful.

I've never had any real luck mixing oil in PG, even vigorous stirring with heat only suspended the oil. It would always separate within a day or two. Can you get a pre made mix like EJMix or Puff Majic? I'm assuming the PG is for ecig vaping? I use the EJMix for that purpose myself. That's about all I can say, I've heard people claim they had oil and PG stay mixed, but many others say otherwise and my experience agrees lol

Thanks iv ordered some ejmix ( it's not easy to get hold of here in the UK) hopefully that will make a stable solution. Still not cpnvinced it wont separate of choke in the atomiser. I will try various different iso extracts till I find the best mix.
They really should call the final product G-juice☺

Sounds good bud, I'm sure the Ej will work fine for you. I've personally mixed over 50grams of various oils (co2, BHO, ISO, Rosin) with EJMix without too much trouble, only real issues are if your oil isn't clean enough (plant matter or waxes) it can cause clogs and junk buildup inside the tank. Good QWISO tech should leave a nice product to work with, especially starting from flower vs. trim IMO

Done my first iso extract just now with mixed success. Ended up with a shatter product that is a dark green almost black colour instead of amber. I had an issue with the coffee filters being too thick and the oil only dripped through. Therefore it sat too long in the herb and extracted a lot of plant matter. You can definitely taste this in the end product tho it burns clean and there is no residual taste of solvent in the extract.
All said it's very strong, I smoked a small dab in a g-pen and I'm having to sit down to write this. Seems I got all the CBD out anyway. I'll try a little in my vaporizer later to get the full taste.
Will make another batch later for mixing with my ejmix but will get a few better filters first. I will strain it a few times with different gauge filters.

1, if the herb and alcohol are cold enough, chlorophyll should stay locked in the plant matter
2, check out the AeroPress coffee maker, as a way to filter quicker.

This would seem a sensible option il look into buying one. Just put a little crumb beside my ABV in a convection vaporizer and it hit pretty good.
Think this may be a viable way to process all the trim too with a few modifications on the setup.
