The Mighty/Mighty+ by Storz & Bickel

Hi everyone,

just wanted to share with you all this great case I've recently acquired for the mighty.

I debated a long time on splashing out on the vapecase designed specifically for the mighty but at around £40 it seems extortionate.

The case I purchased instead is a tsunami foam hardcase.

It can be purchased here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/201233602626

That would be my main complaint about the Mighty, the LCD screen scratches too easily, as does the sticker your referring to. You can prevent the LCD getting scratched so easily by several ways, one way is to never remove the plastic protective sticker they come on the unit when you buy it. If you already removed the plastic covering find someone that works in a hospital or a friend that uses bioclusive bandages, and ask them to give you one. Trim it to size you need BEFORE you remove the protective backing on the dressing. Now you can place it over the LCD, and backplate. You can see through it, and if it gets grungy you can peel it off and put a new one on.

Unfortunatly yours is waaaaaaay beyond scratched...what did you do try and remove it? @StonerBob What the heck were you doing to that poor thing...it looks like it was in a war.
StonerBob I have to agree your vape looks in terrible condition. The heat chamber is looking thrashed; you must be broiling at high temp rather than baking. And you are trilled by what you received back from Storz & Bickel; a new shell? Perhaps a brand new machine would have been more in order, considering the expense of the unit and supposed warranty? Come on; less than a 6 months old, unusable, possibly hazardous to your health, and the inconvenience of packing and shipping costs; and you get a new plastic shell, and new serial number, that matches nothing. Why do customers allow companies to make them feel grateful if they honor their warranty? I will never purchase from Storz & Bickel again.

Go over their heads...contact S&B in Germany. See if they can help you...
Exactly what I did. I wrote 4 separate emails to both Herr Bickel and Herr Storz; attached all the corresponding emails between Oakland Repair Center and myself in Southern California, along with the hand scribbled note I received with the unit when returned. And here's a good one, the vaporizer, was returned in one of those cheap lightweight bubble envelopes, no additional packing for protection or keeping unit secure inside. I included a picture of this envelope in one of the emails to Germany. I emailed Germany regarding the second return also. Again I also included the repair facilities letter stating the vaporizer was at perfect specifications and operating excellently. This began in Mid-October and as yet have heard nothing from Germany.

Mighty should give 4 to 6 full bowls per charge in the 190 degree range.

Here's a pic of the best way to load it.
I have a full bowl here of dryish well ground diamond kush with an extreme q cyclone bowl screen in top. I use no screen in cu. This gives tasteee dense vapor , once its going I get dense hits with like 3 second draws. So clean tasting.

No screen in the cooking unit? Does it plug up quickly?

Hey guys. I've been stalking the forums for a while now and weighing my options on what vape to get as an upgrade from my MFLB; I ultimately decided on a Crafty/Mighty. I saw a bunch of stuff about busted Crafty units and whatnot and from glazing over the past few pages it seems that aside from the odd unit the Mighty is generally more reliable. Would you guys say this is true...? I'd really rather not get something that I'll be mailing in for repairs every few weeks.

(I'll probably end up rolling the dice regardless, but I digress.)

Mighty purchased first week of release. Heavy use for about the last year. Still working flawless. Now handles 11 bowls per charge instead of 12 :2c:

Every vape is gonna have the potential of being sent back. Get what appeals to you.

I just got one. Wish I hadn't waited so long.

I got the mighty

I have the davinci original and ascent, which both have been quite durable and reliable. The wulfvape i had was junk. The mighty is amazing so far. Also my wife who doesn't vape says there is virtually no smell even though I'm blowing huge clouds!

Sounds like the Mighty is for you. Unlike the Crafty, the Mighty doesn't seem to have as many problems (not even close IMO). Just weigh up the cost of replacement batteries, because they will go in time and it could be sooner rather than later depending on your usage patterns and battery habits. Other than the cost, maintenance cost, and hot and cold CS, I think the Mighty is the best vape out there, portable or not.

Agreed, Battery life is great. 11 bowls before my first charge!! The Mighty is a powerhouse..

I must say, the mighty not only produces huge clouds, but tasty vapor as well. I find it tastier than both the Pax 2 and the Solo. It must have something to do with the functionality of cooling unit. I didn't like the loading tool at first, but I'm starting to like it more and more. It does prevent unnecessary spillage of herb outside the bowl area.

Okay back Football!

Edit: How many bowls can you do before you feel the need to a full cleaning of the cooling unit, mouthpiece, screens..I'm thinking maybe 50 bowls or about 10 grams or so. Thoughts??

I thought the loading tool was a gimmick at first but I really do like it myself. Is improved by the fact that it's mostly convection vs conduction. I think that's why my wife can't smell it either . she used to complain about the smell from the ascent or the original DaVinci

Oh, of course! I'm not delusional about it, I know there's always gonna be a chance of getting a defective unit. The Crafty thread just scared the hell outta me.

But thanks man, that was exactly the kind of reply I was hoping for. I appreciate the warm welcome, y'all :haw:

Some are definitely gonna be more problematic than others.

It's important to remember though that this forum does not represent all the users of a product. Many people find their way here only after having a problem with their vape.

We don't often get to hear from all the people at home happily enjoying their purchase with a bag of Cheetos.

Me 2, but then I keep cars 15+ years, and regularly wear 20 yr old clothes, lol. My volcano is 6 years old, I've had my $20/garage sale ssv for about a year, but I did need to buy a wand. My mighty is now 1/yr old and not a problem. Heck, even my 61/yr old man wand still.works, lol.

You're wife really loves you bro and may not want to tell you because this thing stinks if you're doing full sessions. The clouds are big and they come with a smell. Dont get me wrong, this is a great vape. Its just nowhere near odor proof. Unless she smokes cigarettes or has bad sinus problems or maybe came home 8 hours after your sesh, there is no way she is not smelling it.

My Mighty is my go to portable to go out and about with, for instance if I go to the movies, I arrive quite a bit early and vape in my car. Sometimes I vape on my lunch break by a park near my work and stick the Mighty in the car afterwards..

After the movie/work....my car reeks! Lol. Even in my center console in a plush case.

Chiming in for 6 months...still works flawlessly. I'm actually pretty thankful I got mine when I did; I purchased right after the housing was redesigned and the autoshutoff was changed to two minutes, hoping I was going to avoid problems that the Mighty was having with cracked tops. Seems like that the older units seem to be less problem prone, so while I was initially kind of miffed that I got mine 3rd party and they didn't have the newer housing in stock yet, I'm thankful for it now.

CL52613 they told you anticipated repairs would be free of charge" but asked for $96.40 for the replacement of the batteries ($40.00 x 2 for batteries, $10.00 labor charge, $6.40 return shipping). When you questioned this because of the 2 year warranty you were told the batteries are wear and tear items, and not covered by any warranty?

this is shocking, I am going to email them in Germany again and ask, I also told you all i recieved an email from Germany stating clearly the vape was designed for occasional use and people should buy a S&B plug in! S&B seem to be peddling a very expensive and unreliable product and not honoring the warranty legally? You know i am dissapointed because this thread made me wait and i have been waiting 6 months to buy a portable that hits hard and lasts.

And i simply cannot go out and smoke this way i feel trapped sort of, Yet now i am just considering putting my money away. Legally can you not do charge back on your credit card or complain to a regulator? For the price, Storz & Bickel are just trashing thier reputation by ignoring you. It is not even a CS now it is the two founders of the company ignoring your emails?

wow just wow my mind is blown that made in Germany now means nothing in reliability or decency. Hello volkswagon.

For the record, I am not saying the Crafty or Mighty do not make outstanding vapor, the Mighty makes great flavored, cool, thick vapor; when functioning properly, it is a great vaporizer, and it is also the most expensive portable vaporizer in the market. It is almost unbelievable that after one year of use, the batteries would be performing almost like new. For the record, my Mighty, which has been certified to be operating perfectly by Storz & Bickel Repair Center, is least than 6 months old and can only get 4 maybe 5 half loaded heat chamber bowls per charge. This is keeping temperature set-point at 356 degrees. So maybe I have a bad vape, it happens, like a car that is a lemon for whatever reason. My issue is this, if I am experiencing this trouble, which most other owners are not, doesn't it seem logical that something, maybe faulty batteries installed at factory, is wrong so replace the machine or the batteries at least.

One of our German members has posted that the batteries are covered by warranty in Germany as they are in Australia. Depends on the particular countries consumer protection laws.

Old & In the Way
Hey guys. I've been stalking the forums for a while now and weighing my options on what vape to get as an upgrade from my MFLB; I ultimately decided on a Crafty/Mighty. (I'll probably end up rolling the dice regardless, but I digress.)

I've had 3 Crafty's (over 8 months' time) and changed to the Mighty. Much different animal. I really liked the Crafty, but that ship has sailed. I love this Mighty. Granted, only had it a couple of months now, but I have many reasons to be glad I made the change. One factor alone worth mentioning is that Mighty will run on A/C current even if the batteries are depleted. Some folks say don't push this, but I have started with about 10% battery showing, plugged it in and done up 2 or 3 bowls, only to realize that it's fully charged when I'm done. Crafty's charger can not keep up if the unit is in use. This and other reasons...

Money is clearly a factor. As someone said, these are clearly luxury items and priced as such. I happen to like and use the Mighty enough so that I'd go $100 (yeah, now we talk about $100 for this) for batteries, if it was for two years' battery life (less than .14/day, US!). Less and less comfortable if that 2 years is shortened.

Sounds like Aussie's and German's have it licked in this regard! Full 2 year warranty, even on batteries. In US, we have to have a special term for that; a "bumper to bumper" warranty is a desirable bonus!

Don't know if you posted this on both the Crafty and Mighty threads, but I'll chime in as a Crafty owner. Knock on wood, mine has been problem free so far. Because I primarily use it alone, size matters and I'm less concerned about battery life (charging hasn't been an inconvenience). Having said that, I usually recharge after 3sessions, so the battery difference is huge.

One minor difference that matters to me is that the Crafty stands upright on its own (when placed on a table) and the Mighty doesn't (based on what I've read here).

Bottom line is I'm happy with my Crafty. Thought this thread needed some Crafty love!
