Drunken breast feeding, could this happen with weed?

I read the below article and I never knew about drunken breast feeding.

I wonder if this could happen with weed, any thoughts?

GRAND FORKS, N.D. A North Dakota woman accused of breast-feeding her 6-week-old baby while drunk has pleaded guilty to child neglect. Stacey Anvarinia, 36, could face up to five years in prison when she's sentenced on the felony charge in August.

Judge Sonja Clapp says Anvarinia will not have to register as an offender against children.

Police officers who responded to a domestic disturbance call at Anvarinia's home on April 13 say they saw an intoxicated Anvarinia breast feeding. Health officials say alcohol consumed by breast-feeding mothers can be absorbed into an infant's system.

Attorneys believe it's the first such case prosecuted in North Dakota.

My wife had to sign a contract with our hospital saying that she would consent to random drug testing during her pregnancy. If you don't sign, they won't take you on with your pregnancy. Not sure what the ramifications are for a dirty test though.

Good question. Alot of women use MJ for morning sickness. No research has ever shown that it affects the feotus. I'd imagine its better to avoid MJ while breast feeding or pregnant.

Forgive me for not citing my source; but in Jamaica they did a study on mothers who habitually smoked marijuana before/during/after while breastfeeding/pregnant and found no negative effects if I recall. :2c:

I must admit most of the studies Ive read also claim there are no side effects. The ones that claim side effects state that the mothers were also habitual users of other drugs and alcohol.
