I'm looking for a good portable vape for around $100-150. I would like something that has multiple uses but primarily dry flower that won't combust and burn.

Huge clouds aren't as important as nice clean and tasty hits without being scorched to death.

I've watched too many reviews on YouTube and I'm basically overwhelmed.

I've considered the source orb, ghost, arizer air and others. Each has their own pros and con's

Hey man for $100-$150 , there is a few good choices out there. I am going to recommend the Magic Flight Launch Box at around $100 with lifetime warranty and The Arizer Solo. These are both two good vapes in your price range. Both taste great , The Magic Flight will work well once you master its technique , like most vapes they all have a bit of a learning curve. With the Magic flight launch box you can hit it anytime and it doesn't require a heat up like the Solo. You can just pick it up and hit when you want. With the solo you have to turn it on and wait about 1-2 minutes for it to get to a preset temp and than you can start vaping. Both are great and different and you cant go wrong with either. You have to figure out what you really want out of the machine and what you will mostly be using it for. I personally have a arizer air wich is almost same as the solo , i see you are considering it but it is over the $150 you listed. Try and list a few things more you want to get out of the vape for more help. Is stealth and portability something your looking for ?

Thanks for the reply!

Stealth and portability is OK because I'll mainly use it at home with minimal travel.

I mainly want something with great taste, non combusting, minimal smell but not a huge deal for a good price. Battery life could help too.

Best place to buy one? I've seen them on eBay for around $129.99.
+1 on puffitup from what i am hearing. I went with ebay when i didn't know any better but i am pretty sure arizer is really cool with warranties even if you buy from ebay.

+1 on buying the Arizer Solo - it's a tried and tested vape - sure they rebuilt the vape for the new "Arizer air" vape - but that's a brand new vape with the same internals - I suggest you stick with the Solo to start. Unless you REALLY want to spend more for basically the same vape in a smaller package

Trust me, this will not be the last vape you ever own - you will lust for more vaporizers one day. But to start, the Solo is the best vape in your budget if Stealth is not a concern.

I have to second the MFLB, I've had mine 6+ years and finally this year had to the due warranty replacement for the screen and it was hassle free, they sent me a replacement within a few days and the customer service was excellent.

For website I'd also suggest VaporNation. They have a price match tool on each item page... Use it ;)

I originally got the Solo as a back-up for my "desktop" vaporizer, the Vapir Rise, which itself is a very nice vape, IMO. It turned out to be the easiest of the vapes I've had (it was the third) to use, with almost no learning curve. You can get big clouds if you want or it supports a slower approach. It is very easy to clean. It is very durable. It is a pure glass path so the taste is pure. It easily mates to water tools with OR without special gong adapters. You mentioned smell. My wife doesn't smoke or vape and we live in a small apartment. If she comes in from outside 5 minutes after I have finished a session she doesn't smell a thing, she tells me. And combustion as never been a problem with this vape for me.

I hated (and by hated I mean loved) the Solo so much that it replaced the Vapir Rise as my primary vape and the Rise is relegated to back-up duty.

The other thing I really appreciated was the huge (unpaid) customer service operation they have here on FC. By which I mean all of those customers over on the Solo thread providing all kinds of great support and information to Solo owners. And the fact that because it is one of the most popular vapes there is an active add-on after-market for stems, batteries, stands, chargers, etc.

YMMV - there are thousands of vapes out there and I am not saying the Solo is the best - just that it has proven to be plenty good enough for me.

So I followed your advice and just placed an order for the Solo on Planet of the Vapes for $159.99 which included a nice looking metal grinder that I needed to get anyways.

The lowest I saw the Solo online for was $129.99 up to $229.99. Think I got a fairly decent deal. Can't wait to receive it.

Great choice buddy , your going to really like it. Like most vapes there is small learning curve so just give it a few days to feel it out and you'll be mastering it. Don't pack your herb to tight , just grind it and place it in the chamber and lightly tap/tamp it with your pinky but not tight . You want to have it in there so you'll get nice airflow. Let it heat up and start drawing slowly. Wishing you all the best with it.

Where is the best place to find these accessories and add ons?

Thanks for your help, buddy

Can you cancel the order? Go here and enter 124.99 in the price match tool... http://www.vapornation.com/arizer-solo-vaporizer.html

With a free Grinder + other gifts.
Thanks for the info but you don't get the free gifts with a price match so it'll end up about the same price if I bought the grinder separately.

Yes I noticed that after I posted the link, it must have been a different item because one let me price match and keep the grinder but it didn't give me the second gift. Sorry about that

Good choice. When I bought mine I found out a day later that I could have gotten it cheaper. But you know what? It really did not bother me because tracking down the last few bucks in a deal just isn't worth it to me. I paid 160 at puffitup and besides the Solo they threw in a grinder, a packet of screens (which I use), and a few of the O-Rings that folks with a too loose stem use (which I don't use). I was happy with the deal.

Now get back over to the Solo thread and start reading. It will occupy your mind as you wait for your new toy to arrive.. Besides, that is the best place to ask about the add-ons.

But for a start, http://www.planetvape.ca/ has a variety of stem upgrades and GonG adaptors for watertools. I have not used any of them myself but they are highly spoken of.

Thanks man! I'm looking into add-ons now. I've seen a few different glass tubes that supposedly allow for 30% better airflow. Guess I'll wait until mine comes in to see if I think it's restrictive or not.

that's a good strategy. many people, me included, don't feel the need for a less restrictive airflow as that typically dilutes the vapor, IMO

With the improved airflow with the revised 2014 Solo wait to see if you need added airflow.

It's always fun to add accessories. The new Vortex stem for the Solo at Planetvape is interesting too. Everyone needs a wooden stem @Ed's TnT he does wonderful work with wood. I have a 3 inch WonG that I use sometimes when I'm out and about.

The Solo is so adaptable. The D020 bubbler off DHgate is a must have. You will need an 18mm GonG or WonG with that WT.

Now you need to read about 20 to 30 pages of the Solo thread to get caught up. A very friendly thread on FC. We always want your Solo experience a happy one.

I'm so glad I decided on the Solo! It just came in yesterday. Super fast shipping from planet of the Vapes and great support as well.

This thing is a beast. I only packed a small amount into the bowl, heated it to level 4, and took 3-4 hits... Needless to say I was lit. About as high as a giraffes ass!

I found it to be very pleasant flow wise. Of course I have no point of reference because this was my first vape experience but it produced nice clouds at level 4 with little restriction.

The taste was awesome! It was like getting that "green hit" every time. So much better and healthier than using fire.

I'm sold on this thing and vaping in general. I too say, Fuck Combustion!

Thanks again for such an awesome recommendation.

Wooot!
Now it's time to start experimenting with different strains and different temperatures to see what works best for you!

Try lower temps early in the day, and higher temperatures later in the evening

Now it's time to start reading the Solo thread (I hope someone has started a best-of thread for it!)
