No budget - 2-in-1 Laptop Hunt

Hey all!

Enjoying an end-of-weekend long Nano session and thought I'd start a post since I've really been shopping for the past 11 months....

Long story short, I've had the same fully loaded Lenovo X61T (Custom 7764CTO model with both Pen AND finger touch input) since 2008. This laptop has served me well, she's seen many battle scars along the way (missing lid latch, hard drive cover, replaced keyboard, new SSD hard drive, replaced motherboard, new Wireless card, added/replaced memory, upgraded to 8-cell battery, clean Win7 64-bit install).

So the time has come to retire this laptop (it'll become a printserver for my 3D printers and CNC machines).

I'm in need of a new high-powered laptop for my 3D CAD and Scanning needs. Hence the 2-in-1 needs. I need a laptop which can fold up like the Lenovo Yoga, or detach like the surface/Fujitsu style tablet design for my 3D scanning needs.

Graphic processing is not a concern, 3D CAD work does not require GPU processing. Instead, I need raw CPU power for number crunching. compiling complicated 3D CAD models, and slicing 3D models for generating gCode (CNC machine language)

Anyone have any 2-in-1 experience?

I was looking at purchasing a Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga fully loaded with an i7 CPU and 8gb Memory. But held off at the time since there were complaints of ghosting on the LCD screens. Since then, a new Thinkpad Yoga 14 laptop has been released which appears to be the first 2-in-1 with a dedicated GPU (I do have some gamer friends who would LOVE if i could join them for LAN parties from time to time)

Obviously I could save money and buy an ultrabook and skip on the 2-in-1 features, but my 3D scanning application merits the use.

Now I've come into a bit of extra funds recently and I really have no budget on this laptop. I am sticking with Windoze sadly, so no Mac fanboy's here please!
