DashBoard Camera, Good Idea?

I need a gopro setup with a remote for my car. 2 if possible. Of course I think we want these for different reasons.

What do you desire or anticipate taking videos of with a presumed forward-aimed car camera? Do you live somewhere where you have to prove someone else was at fault to get paid for an auto damage claim (but what about recording collisions from the back and side)? Are seeking to document any road-side police interaction in the hopes of catching them not following all their own rules? Do you need to document, e.g., for probation, where you are every moment of the day?

Or am I missing something obvious? Do you simply like watching hi-def videos of driving around? Or is this to monitor say a teenager's driving habits and everywhere he/she goes?
