A General Shout out to anyone who needs help

Some of know me as the FC member that had throat nodules removed from her throat. I've been on everything from the exhale thread, tolerance thread to the cooking with cooking cannabis thread. The surgery went smoothly, there were no surprises and now it's just a waiting game to get the report on the biopsy. If it's cancer (which I am a little more confident that it is negative for that) will get to sloan Kettering pretty damn fast. LOL - I could be the first one to get the MMJ card. Ok let's not hope for that.

Many people who know me in person have said to me that God doesn't give you more on your plate than you can handle. Between medical issues with family members, death of my parents, stupid things like watching Katrina destroy my beloved hometown, I don't exactly believe that anymore. I am Jewish which I relate to historically and culturally but I don't believe in an Almighty that is watching over us. I do believe in the forces of nature and for my first attempt on any social network (working on with computers since computers since 1980 - first one was an Osborne and yes I remember MSDos) I do believe in this site. I do believe in this site; it just makes me happy!

Members are caring, relatively non judgmental, want to share information to make the experience better and spread the word on healthier and more responsible ways to consume marijuana. What could be bad?

If anyone in the New York City area gets busted and I am in a position to help (not in the next month because I am on strict voice rest) as a retired lawyer I would gladly do the case for free. This would be for small amounts only but for the larger quantities I would gather my forces and make my husband do the case for a much reduced price.

If there are any type of legal problems concerning the site itself ie trouble with a vendor or member, problem with a search engine, any type of copy right infringement I would also do the best I can to figure out an answer and help to the best of my abilities all pro bono. The site is so popular that it probably has way more knowledgeable attorneys on these types of issues on staff already but the offer still stands.

If anyone is working on legalization nation wide, I would certainly lend a hand in terms of drafting petitions, letters to Congress, mobilizing events that call for full legalization everywhere.

Let's end the prohibition now; shoot let's just get it off the federal law that classifies it still as a schedule 1 drug with cocaine, opiates and crystal meth, find ways to lobby against the big pharma lobby that is freaking that it will be used instead of the codeine for pain relief, responsible use - no getting high and driving, strict use of age 21 and over and use medically for all ages who need it for seizures or other medical needs, spreading the word that vaporizing is the way to go - NY State just enacted the law that allows for MMJ use only by vaping it, eating it and tincture use. That is off the top of my head and yes it's a run on sentence

Now I will probably get a inbox from one of the monitors that I posted this in the wrong place or said something like that can get you kicked out. But the offer still stands.

Thanks for everything from everyone everywhere that sent their best wishes. Now I just have to figure out a way to keep my voice, continue my much moderated use safely which totally contradicts my desire to keep my voice and yes that possibility totally bums me out because as I weekend user Bill Maher is not the sane without it and not gaining back the 30+ pounds I lost because there is no exercise for the next 2 weeks

Hey I kept the post nice, short and to the point. Old lawyers tend to advocate to death and old habits are hard to break

420 forever

I just love this post, longislandmom! It's straight from your wide-open heart and keen mind. I have my own thread here: 'Busted' that recounts my experience in Nebraska three days ago. I've consulted a lawyer in Nebraska and he has been so far very helpful. However, if you have any thoughts or ideas to add, I would love to hear them. Also, I am planning to start a local NORML chapter and to get involved more intensively in helping to legalize marijuana in my home state of Wisconsin, as well as across the U.S. I think I might take you up on your offer regarding the drafting of letters and petitions.....
