What!?!?
Hello all! Just a quick question I recently jumped into the vapor world and went ahead and bought a pinnacle pro from recommendations on this site. I never previously vaped before so it is all new to me. My question is I've always heard the "popcorn taste/smell" is how you know your bowl is cashed, and I understand exactly what your talking about, but my question is even multiple hits after it tasting like crap I'm still getting vapor. If the bowl is cashed why is there vapor still coming out, what exactly is still burning, is it safe to keep smoking? Will it ever stop blowing smoke? Just something I've been thinking about.

Your vape bowl is a like a burning cigarette. All the tobacco doesn't burn at once. As you hit the vape, more and more herb turns to ABV, and the popcorn taste becomes more prominent as you go. The more you load in the bowl, the longer you have to put up with the 'Already Been Vaped' taste, while still getting vapor from the herb that isn't toasted yet. The same thing applies to increasing the temp. High temp vapor is more harsh, so if you want to vape it to the maximum, you'll have to sacrifice taste for effect.

what exactly is still burning, is it safe to keep smoking?
Just for the purpose of correct terminology, nothing is burning, and you're vaping, not smoking. And yes, it's safe- safer than smoking, for sure.

I guess what I'm wondering is, if I can put up with the taste where there be a point where it no longer produces vapor? like if I turn my pinnacle on the highest setting and just keep hitting will i eventually inhale/see nothing? what I'm understanding is if you still see vape there's still unvaped product left? you may have to deal with the nasty taste but there is still benefit to keep hitting it is this correct?

I keep hitting my herb until no more visible vapor is produced. I actually take my ABV from my portables and run it through a desktop vape to get a few more hits out of it before tossing it.

Some people don't go to extremes when trying to get the goodies out of the herb because they use the ABV in edibles or tinctures. I don't use my ABV for anything, so I try to squeeze out every bit of goodness when vaping.

Yes, and it'll likely be delivering vapor longer than you think, since vapor is harder to see than smoke, and needs to be exhaled into good lighting to be visible. I get vapor all the time (witnessed via exhales into direct lighting) when it seems (from feeling nothing hitting my throat or lungs) like nothing's in the hit but ABV taste and air. You can always stop at some point and save the ABV, while avoiding some of the 'vaped taste'. Many people use the ABV for edibles, since even if the THC has been fully vaped (you don't need a really high temp for that), there are still some cannabinoids remaining.

Are you sure of the maximum temp on this model? Some vapes can get hot enough for combustion and others are designed with a max temp that stops short of combustion point.

470 F is generally considered to be above combustion point for mj, but I'm not sure that there's been a study on it that we can take to the bank. Storz & Bickel has a cutoff of 446 F for the Volcano, and that's supposed to be just below combustion.

Paper is definitely 451 I read the book when a small kid.

I'd test it out when mine arrives only that is asking to melt the mothpiece

my theory is ... you are vaporizing plant substances OTHER than THC from the trichomes. Once the trichomes melt and expose the interior to the hot air stream (or convection hotplate) the bioactive components are released. After that it (could be) plant waxes, plant fluids, etc.

i guess the way to test this is to vaporize only kief (loose trichomes, and hence no superfluous plant matter) and see how that ends.
