Recyclers - Discussion and Appreciation

Sinclue

OK disagree with me, I can't force you to be right
Is there a fairly inexpensive recycler I can get online to go with my nail/dabbing? My bubbler is kind of big and it collects a lot of concentrate inside, so I think I need something a lot smaller with less percolation/more water swirling around.

And oh god, this looks like such a good deal! Why must my budget suck now...

Any idea how long the deal will last?

Today is last day.

Sucks that this is only open to US customers...

Read the MassDrop thread...there are a couple of folks offering to buy and ship overseas to you.

Wish I coulda got in on that.

You still can. Today is the last day.

@clouded vision, none of your videos "exist".

Yeah, the Hamm AB is pretty sick, but how come I never see a video of anyone taking a hit off the thing? It looks like a turbocharged smoke/vapor "scrubber" I would think it also scrubs all the flavor out?

Even though some recyclers don't have good vortex, I have to believe that the circular spinning adds something to the cooling/filtering over a non-vortexing recycler.

For anyone who got in on the MD for the RooR, here's a pic that shows the inlet to the vortex chamber at what looks like a very vortex-friendly angle. Here's hoping for the eye candy.

Yes I know,I had the mods delete that post. I had found 3 nice vids of the Hamm AB on another forum that worked like 2 months ago and I just copied the link over without checking them first. It was actual usage videos that were requested, including a close up. I'll see if I can track then down after work

clouded vision,
Man, you gize is cray-cray to buy that MD piece without a function vid existing on the internets.

"If water does come up to he mouth piece, not to worry. There is a last line of defense that is in the shape of a mushroom. The mushroom head of the mouthpiece traps any water before it can go into your lungs."

I figure that a RooR piece will work well. They are known for quality good functioning glass aren't they? I hope so because I'm going to jump on it!

Oh boy, I really want that roor.........but I really want a heady rig too but am not having any luck on something nice at a good price.
Do you mind if I ask what you are looking to spend on a heady piece? I am in the same boat as you.

Me three. I kept thinking about an Earl Jr. for >$300 but the reason I got my colie recycler is that I loved the worked colors on it, and a sterile clear recycler feels like a downgrade.

My ideal recycler has some worked color and a nice vortex, but that's hard to find >$500

Heady means many things. There are degrees. A tend to like a mixed scientific/heady on a recycler verses fully worked where nothing is clear or its used as a color.

It also depends on the blower and where they are in the food chain right? You want a heady Joe Peters piece, you are talking 4 figures.

I have seen a couple nice recyclers of mixed heady/clear EA style on FB for 400-500 lately. One was a EA student, It looked real nice for $420. Used under 3 months. I wish I had the funds :)

In the 400-600 price range it will be a middle level blower, not a new comer but someone on step 2 or 3, but not to the “known” level quite yet. I think Earl Jr Headies go for > 600 and probably > 800 now.

My point is the 400-600 heady can be done, but a newer blower and not full heady. It can happen. I have bought several ones in that range. My APIX Klein is mixed with nice work, large and in that range.

I just got a Surly Klein proto off FB for 200. Boy its whirlpool takes on my Siren and almost anything I have. Scientific of course, but 200...

Well I may just have to bite the bullet and see if the piece I want is still at my LHS. For $450 I'd be getting a very nice heady recycler with a matching dish and dabber.

Damn you GAS.
Well, I went to my LHS and asked to see a water test. I was unimpressed with what I saw so I passed. Unfortunate, because it really was a good looking piece.

Considering its price and it's American, the piece looks real good except for one really rough patch of air bubbles here:

Luckily not much weight or stress is ever going to be put on this guy. And at least if it breaks I won't be crestfallen or anything.

So it sure ain't the fanciest recycler in this thread, but it's the highest price I can afford. But I have a fucking recycler, so I'm feeling pretty, pretty, pretty good!

Maybe I can upgrade to one of their bigger recyclers in the future.

All right, I'll shut up now and show you some recycling action.

Water test - still playing with water level:

With UD:

My water level look okay? Seems like it might be a tad bit high.

Anyway, I am very pleased to be among the recycler club! I cannot believe how big of hits I can take without feeling any irritation whatsoever. I have a lot of catching up to do... :science:
