Ive only used loose leaf covered in wax with the white rod @ 7.4v. But i think the black rod might work @ 3.7v

Hello all, newbie user here. I picked up a Persei with the Hercules attachment at a local shop and I'm a bit confused on how to load it. Yesterday, I rested the cart on top of the white rod, dropped about .3 of shatter in it and was barely able to produce any vapor.

Are you supposed to just drop the concentrate directly onto the white rod? The cart definitely gets plenty hot, so I don't think the unit is DOA.

If you haven't cut your coil shorter. You need to add more oil/wax to the hercules. Either cut your coil shorter or add more oil/wax and see if it produces more vapor. I'm sure more fellow FC members will chime in and help

Yes the black rod will work with LL, but it takes some effort. You need to remove the coil pack it down with shredded leaf and use the shaking technique vitolo showed in a video. It will work but it takes a lot of effort and patience.

If by rested the cart on top of the rod you mean the coil, then your doing it wrong. The rod should fit right through the coil and slide all the way down. You want to cut the coil at least in half first though like someone already mentioned.

Also sounds like your not adding enough oil, .3 is what you should have for the buffer, so load the .3 (just throw it right on the coil/rod) press the button and give it a few puffs..then place another .3 in there and repeat and you should be good to go

Thanks for the reply. I'm not clear--- are you saying remove the coil altogether, or pack the LL under the coil?

Also, I probably won't go through the concentrate all that quickly. Provided I store the Herc upright, it should still be ok to use periodically, no?

Yeah your good, it's not going anywhere. Be sure to cool down the herc after each session to avoid leakage into the bottom chamber. Cool it down by dry hitting it for 1-2 minutes (don't press the button)

Quick question i didnt get a instructions manual with mine and i was wondering if i can set the hammer to 8.4v? What will it do compare to 7.4v? Or what is the best voltage to set it at?

Anything over 5 amps or 40 wats is not going to work.

The hammer max voltage is 7.4v-7.4v That is the maximum you can use.

I managed to break my SR71's retaining collar somehow (well it involved me being dumb and some pliers). Is this under warranty or should i buy a new one from you guys?

If I get one from you guys can I get a replacement ceramic rod too? Mine just isn't registering anything below ~3.5 ohms with all the contact material missing from it

Was gonna wait for the SR74 rod to arrive but might be too impatient...
