You should concentrate your review search in FC. Read the last 20-30 pages of the thread of the vaporizer you're interested in, and the first pages of the thread until the first reviews come out. It's when there are more critical opinions and its faults are explored.
It will give a much better feel of the vaporizer than a youtube video. I just watch YT videos to see how it milks a bong and how fast.

it costs roughly 230USD/170€, you can buy it from epicvape.com

The Lotus costs 120€ with the water adapter, at verdampftnochmal.de

And in the Lotus you hit while you heat it, not after.

Honestly, i would get the Lotus first.

hi there! and watch out!
Welcome to FC. That was a great first post you made, I'm glad a mod moved it to the Ask FC section where I see it is getting the proper attention.
i am searching for a device, that will work at home on daily base and daily routine, fine like a chime, and is, on the other hand, able to be taken with outside - a short trip or something like that....a few sessions without completely drained batteries would be nice.
The Arizer Solo matches this "all-in-one" criteria better than anything else, IMO.
i am a heavy-bong smoker for many years now. so i´m searching for a devide, that squeezes out the tiniest bit of "action" out of the herb, and deliveres it with a good strong experience.
Again... the Solo, it's not only one of the most efficient vapes known here, it can milk a bong with ease on just batteries. I'm talking about tasty, thick and creamy vapor, yum.
i just want a quality-build vape, for allday use, exzessiv use, able to bring the full load from the herb to the vaper, withouth waste of herb. a device, i can take with me without problems (the solo and his glas-stem....*gnhhhh!!!*) and may even with the possibility of hook up to my waterpipe or stuff like that.
{the solo} seems pretty nice, but i´ve heard about a hard drawing resistance + i don´t see it as a portable device, because of its fragile glas-stem. but heard just good things about taste, dense vape, etc.
That glass stem is probably the strongest little piece of glass I have ever used (i've seen them bounce on concrete and survive), but you can store it in a plastic tube for protection, and it's only $10 to replace if you do break one. The stock glass stem will also fit nicely into most 14mm ground joints without any need for an adapter to your water pipe.

The draw resistance is part of the design and the manufacturer has recently made some improvement to it. I was also turned off by the idea of a "milkshake draw" that I had read about... until I tried it. It really isn't a problem for most, I even use mine with more than stock draw resistance. If it is something that bothers you, there's some aftermarket stems available from PV that will open up the flow. I do not recommend anyone buy these aftermarket pieces until you have tried using the device as it was intended, you may not need them.

I dropped mine from a car window onto pavement.
.... X-D no questions!

Not a scratch.

well, that´s on one side good to hear, on the other side pretty bad - because the stem was the only really no-buying reason for me. ......damn. now when i hear it´s so durable...it´s again in the race.

mhkay, i´m now already a bit in love with the lotus - the waterpipe-unit seems pretty nice and easy but good to use. maybe i´ll get that at first for home/bong use(?). will check also the fc-threads for this device (and the others :) ), i´m interested how evenly it performs and how the vaped herbs looks. hmhmhmh.....

to be honest, i think i would choose the Lotus over the Solo with eds stems.

The durability factor is just one of the factors where the Lotus is a superior experience.

The only big plus for the Solo is the electric controled temps, other than that, the Lotus is way better.

The Lotus has better flavour and better extraction, it is more eficient because there are no losses due to conduction and it is more versatile and quick.

Plus, it gives you thicker hits than the Solo.

Oh, well let me ruin everything for you then.
it´s welcome :D ! edit: .....damn. they look nice......

another thing is... i live, like some of you noticed, in southern germany, where the law is _very_ against every kind of "medication". so i am a bit afraid of buying something right from the states - i´ve buyed myself some years ago a special flute (i´m musician) from some dude there, and had do travel to the police station in a nearby city and had to open it in front of them. lucky for me, it was nothing "special", so i paid some tax and could get it. i think if they found a vape, i´ll get some nice "visit" at home.... which is something i absolutely don´t want. so i wanna buy something i can get in the e.u, or germany.

so it´s good to see that verdampftnochmal has the lotus :D

Yeah, there are a couple of stores who have nice units.

It's too bad that 7th floor vapes are hard to find in EU now, and they are expensive. As well as all the logs.

But Vapefiend, Verdampftnochmal, and Vaposhop have nice units and nice prices.

I get what you mean... that is exactly what you can find at FC from users. There are users here far more experienced than VapeCritic... he just arrived on the scene last year.
Sorry if this is slightly off topic but I think this is important. Vape Critic doesn't even review one of the more important aspects of vaporizers - their efficiency. He has a lot of vaporizers but his review skills are infinitesimally poor. He's concerned with using as many vapes that he can get his hands on and producing the fattest clouds possible on cam for all to see, but doesn't actually seem all that concerned on giving useful information on vaporizers. It often seems like he judges vapes exclusively on how big of vape clouds he can get.

The Vape Critic is absolutely the last place you should go to for reviews IMO. If you want to see him test a vape - that's cool, but he really doesn't seem to be an analytical enough person to be dishing out reviews on vaporizers.

Well that would seal the deal for me. Get whatever you can that wont grab the attention of the Stasi.

of the Stasi.
stasi 2.0 is watching you <3 ....kinda. sad, but that´s what i´ve experienced. don´t wanna risk anything, so i´m already checking out the lotus.... i´m now into reading all relevant threads in this big forum, so i readed this a few secs before:

I'm about to send in for my 3rd unit. Both of my previous ones died the same way. Stopped heating up/ charging.
(about the ascent...)

....well,...i think i will just wait a few month, see how the market develops and check out how some of the newer devices get through their first month of use. i think with the lotus i can satisfy my home use and have also a acceptale option for the go. i´m not a big fan of the use of those jet flames and this "manually"-vaping, but the system seems to be solid as a brick and nearly every user reports absoluty overwhelming experiences. on the other hand, no hassle with batteries or charging (...if you always have some gas with you :D )
for that money, i think i will give it a try. way better then my vapo bowl and stuff, where the buthan is going directly into the airflow... :/

thanks so long for all the nice help! withouth fc i would never heard about the good performance of the lotus :)

the highly-baked nocturnal wifebeater strikes again:

a shiny, new lotus plus some stuff to hook up on my waterpipe is on my way. sadly verdampftnochmal only has the short stems left, but i wanna use it in first place for my bong.

will post some results in the lotus-thread when the new baby is here. thanks again for the nice guidance and advices :)
