I feel you, I have never really enjoyed concentrates with herb vaporizers as they usually don't have that high, fast heat since they're designed to handle herbs without combustion.

Well I decided to go ahead and drop some more cash towards the campaign. I even took the plunge on the oil front end and the water adapter. Time will tell whether this little beast does the trick all around. Meanwhile, the anticipation is a good enough motivator. I will leave the thermodynamics to the experts, and if this turns out to be a turd (no offense), I will have a couple super lightweight pens laying around......

It's been another good Friday for the campaign (actually the best day since day 1). Not only that, but I just did the numbers and they've averaged $800 more per day in week 2 than in week 1 (excluding the outlier of day 1). We'll see if week 3 will brubg the expected mid-campaign lull, but so far the first half of the campaign has only shown acceleration.

By the way, if you haven't looked at my spreadsheet in a while, I've managed to make it a lot easier on the eyes now. :tup:I also added some back-of-the-hand projections, which should of course be taken with a grain of salt. They depend upon a constant momentum which, although it has held up so far, isn't a given. I think it's still fun to look at where things could go, though!

Wow your projection is alittle over a 1/4 of a million? Pretty wild

Glad to hear it!

The projection is only a simple multiplication of the average daily contributions times the number of days remaining, added to the current total. So it all depends on whether the momentum remains as steady as it has, which admittedly isn't usual for Kickstarter-style campaigns.

But along with the FADR on the $200k level, it does show that unless things slow down significantly they won't have any trouble hitting that $200k stretch goal.

Every day that you see them gain close to $8k is another step closer to a quarter mil.

So this is the greatest vape ever made or the best rip off we have seen. I'm having a really hard time stopping myself from going for the ti version. This could be the one we been looking for but just sounds to good to be true, at any price. Im excited as fuck to see what happens here.

If they hit 200k we'll see a third party review?

Let me ask an honest question. I have followed many crowdfunded projects. I have never seen one that has independant reviews. Ever.

Has anyone in this thread? I understand that it's a leap of faith that not everyone is willing to take but berating an IndieGoGo for not having reviews is such a strange concept to me. If they had the money to manufacture the final versions there would be no reason for this campaign to exist. Yes it's a risk. The reward is that you get it first and for cheaper if it should work out. But only you can decide if that's worth it or not.

Edit: Accidentally a word.

Thing is, it's been said that there will be review units out. Perhaps they said neither "independent" nor "third party", but a bunch of us are expecting reviews in "mid-campaign".

(or figure out a way to fly me out to help!) ;)

Of course I see the jocular intent here. But others including n00bs might not recall

You're saying that we shouldn't expect to have pre shipment item reviews because the precedent has yet to be set.

Why don't we break the mold?
How much would I need to contribute to get an acceptable quantity of review units made and shipped. How many review units will Grasshopper designate?

I think most of the problem that GH is facing is limited funds to get more protos/review units built. They won't get any money until after the fundraiser is over, so unless they're already working on assembling review units, we'll probably have to wait until they can secure financials for it. Anyways, I'd hope for at least some test units to be shipped next month, possibly before the end of the year? They're aiming for a Feb. release date, but we all know how that works out... I'm really hoping that they'll push them out as soon as they can, sure they might find bugs and stuff but their usage patterns vs. everyone else's will probably lead to some interesting discoveries.

A bit hazzy from some Ambien so dorfoce anything unintelligible.

Sounds like the problem is too late too little. Had there been a call to arms to get these things reviewed. It would have happened. People would have pooled cash, nominates reviewers, etc.

First. They don't get a dime until the entire campaign ends so there really is no amount that you could domate that would help that particular goal. And secondly, based on what they've said on reddit, 1000's of dollars for a single prototype. They have order a single run 3d printed board from one company, custom injected moldings from another, ect. That's the reason they need a huge lump sum to place an order that can drive costs down.

Edit: I see Quetzalcoatl pretty much covered this whil I was typing.
