How do I know whether alcohol I buy is safe for extractions?

I have found a seller for ISO, but I do not know whether or not this would be safe for extractions. According to the info sheet the formula is:

CH3CH(OH)CH3 C3H8O(Hill)

However, I did not take a lot of chemistry in school and I wouldn't know whether this is pure or not or even whether the formula is right, if anyone could clarify this for me that would be great. I plan to use it for extractions so I wouldn't like the "denatured" kind of alcohol.

Any help would be appreciated.

I don't know if this will help but a type of organic 190 proof grape spirits was mentioned like 70% of the time in today's net info related to extractions and winterization. Organicalcohol.com

That seems to be the formula for ISO, at least according to this (also supported by Wikipedia).

Cant speak for the alcohol purity from that seller, but if the only other ingredient is water you should be good to go. Ideally you want isopropyl with 90+% concentration for extractions.

Yeah that's what I thought as well, going to a local pharmacy though I pay about 60-70 euros (currently 90-100 dollars) per liter, which is why I'm looking for a cheaper version but I don't want ones with methane or something (the stuff that makes it smell terribly and kills you when you drink it). I have tried to email for more info, getting quick replies but I get replies like "have a look at this sheet" and as I am not very good in chemistry AND it's in german I don't really trust my own judgement, and I don't know if it does have water in it as I can't seem to figure it out and my question got dodged by the company. Thanks for the help so far and with a bit of luck some more help as well. It's supposedly 99%. I do intend to use it for cleaning piece as well as making extractions.

Holy shit! Is that a typo?

I pay $3.00 USD for 16oz of 99% Isopropyl alcohol from my local grocery store... which is roughly half a liter (1 liter being about 33.xx fluid ounces according to the googles).

Basically I pay $6.00 +7.75% tax for a liter of this stuff.

Holy fuck. For that much I'd make a mash bucket and still some ethanol. Corn sugar yeast.
