Foods to avoid before bed

I see scientist are proving what I found years ago. I posted this because this information is important if you want certain effects from herb and also to show I'm not some weirdo on here just talking out my ass.

NEW YORK (WABC) -- Sometimes what we eat or drink before bedtime can lead to a lousy night's sleep.
What are the worst offenders? For many of us anything with caffeine can keep us up, but alcohol can also make you toss and turn.
Even though it may make us feel as if it puts us to sleep initially, it's going to disrupt the quality of sleep later on in the night.

Another thing to avoid is a large meal of any kind. Our bodies are meant to be quiet at night and if our bodies have to digest a high fat, high protein, high fiber meal, it may mitigate the quality of sleep. High protein foods tend to make us more sharp and alert, not what you want when you want to go to sleep. Another sleep buster is foods with lots of sugar.

Sugary foods may give our bodies an initial burst of energy and keep us more alert and stimulated, but eating a light snack of about 200 calories that contains tryptophan may help. Tryptophan boosts melatonin levels in the brain which can help promotes good quality sleep.

The snack should include a small amount of protein and a carbohydrate. Here are some examples:
  • Warm milk and a low-fat cookie or fruit
  • Low-fat yogurt
  • A small serving of popcorn
  • A small bowl of low-fat, low sugar cereal

yeah eating before bed is always something i try to avoid, but it's very hard to do since i usually like to vape before bed too... i try to keep healthier snack options around, cant get enough apples and bananas or maybe baby carrots and a bit of ranch

Steiner666, bananas, corn or oatmeal will give you a nice deep sleep, especially before puffing some herb in a dark room.

I try not to eat before bed but my body turns into hunger mode when I try! One food that kills me before bed is spaghetti. I don't know why my body craves it right before I am about to lay down, but that is death on me!

I eat six time a day.. what i use to eat on 3 times a day. So twice the meals half the portions. I mostly raw vegan (80%) with some sweet exclusions :) and may 1 cooked meal a day . I never had a problem with anyfood before bedtime,i believe that the amount of food before bed time has more effect on my sleep/trouble sleeping than the type of food eaten ,minding my regiment .

I avoid carbohydrates before bed, in fact I avoid them after supper if it all possible. More for health reasons than sleep though... Ive realized my body is somewhat sensitive to carbs, so I work with it.
