Lot of that depends on how fine your grind your herb and how dry it is, but many here, including myself weighed out our bowls and they weighed out at 0.025g, but consider that a bit on the low side as some people might cram more into those stems than I.

Basically half of my iotlite... Which is epic, you had both? How can you compare?

The PD is MUCH more efficient.
To me, the PD tastes a whole bunch better.
The PD is easier to use.

But really, they are two different animals with the Iolite being a portable and the PD being a home unit.

Very true... I am really looking for a home vape at this point, will be my second vape but most likely my last as well so I want something that will last forever and is great to use.

I just unboxed my Myrtle PD! the wood is really beautiful. Its warming up right now, im assuming that hot wood odor is normal and will dissipate(or I will just get used to it)

Big thanks to Tom and Pam! Keep up the good work.

on a sidenote: I checked the entire package and there is no sign of the extra screen kit and whip ripper that I ordered.

^^^ I think Pammy sent some little stuff on a second day to some folks, just check with us by e-mail (as I don't know who you are).

Each wood has a mild distinct odor in the beginning, Walnut and Myrtle in particular. And you are right it will dissipate shortly. Myrtle has a sort of familiar odor, it's leaves are used like Bay Laurel Leaves, it is related botanically (I think).

NYcdeisel, you and everyone is more than welcome, no thanks required. ;) We enjoy it. :)

the smell and taste have already lessened, I think mines pretty cool right now(or Im doing something wrong with grinding/packing) but I know it will get warmer over time. The outside of the wood already feels nice and toasty.

I am getting used to packing multiple small loads, which I have never done with vapor.
:D

Nycdeisel, you should pack the stems lightly - some of us use the straw inhalation replication approach; just suck up some dried and finely ground bud into the stem to allow for good airflow between particles. Then following the "straw" replication, inhale as if you're enjoying a McDonald's milkshake (with the same level of force).
With the filled tube, you might want to tap it down with your finger just a bit and then turn the tube upside down to make sure the material doesn't drop out before you start.
Once you get it right it becomes second nature.

woah I was seriously about to post how I just 'got it'. I used it the first time, and was being very careful to make sure it would not fall out. I ended up needing to pack in a tiny bit more herb, a little tighter.
I pack it down with the end of the brush that comes with the MFLB, which is hollow, so it doesnt pack down in the center, just the edges. Works very well.
I washed all my stems again, which took about 5 minutes, then I rubbed some buzz butter onto the wood and loaded up a fresh stem, and took about 3 nice hits( meaning I held the vapor in for about 10 seconds and still saw a good amount of vapor upon exhale), then I emptied it out to compare the color to the color of the ABV in my designated jar. then I loaded another one

right - sometimes if the bud is powdery it can fall out more easily but after the first hit it's going to stay put. so regardless to be on the safe side tilt the unit slightly upright as you're hitting and you probably want to avoid resting the tube inside the unit between hits unless you rest the PD on its side between hits, which is what I do. the whole thing becomes intuitive and second nature once you've done it correctly a few times. you're getting it....

fun, isn't it?

Yes, I certainly do like this a lot.

When I am hitting it I tilt it towards myself.

I tried using it with my mini beaker but I dont like it as much, I will leave that up to the DBV. ;)

I have designated a small glass mason jar to hold my stems.

just vaped another stem, loading another. its been quite easy to pack multiple bowls. I am very pleased.

:woah:

nice... there's a few good head shops in the village and they carry most of the quality vapes except the log vapes but I hipped the proprietor of one to FC and he was blown away by the degree of knowledge here. i don't really know anything about glass yet; just the glass tube extensions which work amazingly well - you should try that as you go along.

Nycd... Its so cool to hear your experience. What I have found, in my limited vape experience, is that all vapes need getting used to. When you "get it" is an awesome moment. I keep mine in the bedroom, load tubes before sleeping. Nice indeed. Oh, and I didn't like it at first, but I stick the tube rig,ht on my bubbler.

I broke out a brand new Walnut unit I'd had new in box for awhile and took with me on a girl's weekend. Plugged in at hotel and used while we were there, used oil to fragrance the room when we were out. My friend was so very impressed with the PD both for vaping and for aromatherapy purposes.

I brought other vapes too but the PD was the one that needed very little teaching time, was always ready to go. Was a big hit and I sent my friend a cherry unit to use at home ;) Another vapor convert on horizon I think.

You're a good friend, Lo. Today is nine weeks off analogs thanks to your good deeds.
But yeah pulling this back on topic, it's a joy to convert friends to vapor, or rather to expose them and let them decide if it's for them.

JeffP, that sounds cool, I find headshop employees never really know too much about vapor or the equipment for it. I have quite a bit of knowledge on glass from my smoking career. I still use some glass with my vapor though.

Tstat: I agree, and yes it was a fantastic feeling where it 'clicks'
Now im packing stems left and right. I wonder how fast some of the PD vets here could pack a vapor tube/stem

I can grind up the amount of herb that it would usually take to load a good bowl in the DBV, and get at least 6, maybe more, stem packs.
When I load a stem, I suck up herb until pieces are sticking out of the end, I remove those and when its just slightly sticking out I push it down with my finger and check how secure it is by tapping it hard onto my palm. I tried a few others ways, but I like this the best.

That's the way I do it too.

x3. I use my pinky :D

theamigo: don't pack too tight as to restrict air-flow, ultimately you wanna be able to pull it on it comfortably. You can pack half-full if you'd like, I just wouldn't pack TOO tight otherwise you might turn red sucking

^^^ I do that, or grab a pinch and stick it in, tamp level with a fingertip and check for hold. Try a 5 second vapor tube pre-heat sometime too.

Here is some footage of the hailstorm that hit near us in October, our car was at the dealership for overnight service very near this. We weren't sure what we would see the next day. Fortunately our car was under cover at the time...

This is some amazing hail... :o Phoenix Snow ! It get's pretty intense...

No, we don't have a pool or guest house... just somebody in the area that had a video to post.

Our buddy's Toyota wasn't so lucky. Lots of cars around here look like they have been left out on the local driving range. Body shops are booked well into next year...

Back to the Experience... 'cause you never know what you might see here.

Ahhh.... So nice and warm and ready to go. I have the walnut. Do you love it? I really love all the vapes I decided to buy. I just bought a herbalAire for my son. Can't wait to try it out!

Yea, the Q does bags, and I used them for a few days when I first bought it.. Nothing like vaping through glass, though. The kid loves laying on the couch with a bag, but then again he likes smoking blunts, too, hehe. I love my PD, and my Q, and my LB :)
