Green dragon evaporation?

So I recently made, using a half zip of ABV and everclear, some green dragon, and I heard that one can Evaporate off the alcohol and be left with hash. I live in cold Wisconsin and don't want to do it inside my house as I heard the fumes are dangerous (I have about 7fluid ounces to evaporate) and so I was wondering what you guys think the best option is? Maybe leave in in the garage? It's mighty cold in there and I tried evaping a bit off earlier and I really think the smell plus files are not good indoors

I reduce my everclear tincture on stovetop in a small pan on low heat. Works very easily. I've tried letting it sit but it takes a long while to get rid of the alcohol that way. Stovetop = quick and easy.

The ISO alcohol fumes are much worse than Everclear IMHO. Never been a problem doing everclear on stove, been doing quite some time now though I'd suggest opening a window or three ROFL as it does smell up the house a bit!!

Generally when final product is to be a hash you'd use ISO instead of Everclear but I reduce my everclear tinctures down to almost nothing to stuff in candy recipes. I'd get rid of most of the alcohol but leave enough liquid behind so you can transfer it to another container - then you can let it evaporate all the way down without having to wait forever.

Good luck!

I'll be honest man, 7floz sounds like small enough you could do it in your kitchen IF you had an exhaust fan.

Just gotta be careful! keep an open window and exhaust fan going!

I've done bigger batches of ISO over a double boiler on my stove and never had any problems.

I do have an electric stove though, no gas of course!

Cool, thanks guys

I have an electric plug in single burner stovetop thingy

My plan is to set up a double boiler, with an undecided container inside of a larger pot with some water in it (not too much) and just boil off 50% of the everclear (outside because I can plug it in! :) ) and then strain out the abv and continue to double boil it until only 5-10% of the liquid is left, and then transplant it to a larger basin where it can evap off

@Lo, My friend recently gave me 9grams of mids for free, and the ISO hash sounds really cool

What would your method be? I'm assuming grind it up, throw it in with X amount of X% isopropyl, then let it sit and then double boil it?

i've never worked with ISO before besides cleaning with my MFLB but from what i've read you could leave the ISO wash out on a pyrex plate, or something of the sort, and place it in front of a fan. ISO evaporates pretty quickly and personally wouldn't place it near heat the first time im working with it IMHO.

Look up QWISO hash or oil. "quick wash iso"

You usually want to only leave the flowers covered by iso for 30s to a minute max so you get a purer product with less plant matter.

I believe there are a few threads in the concentrates section about it.

if you want to make hash from green dragon, you should separate the cannabinoids you want from the chlorophyll, waxes, etc. that you don't and save yourself a lot of evaporation time in the process. put your jar of green dragon in the freezer, and the resin will sink to the bottom. suction off most of the alcohol on top without disturbing the frozen resin, dry out the rest on a plate and you'll have a purer qwiso-like hash instead of the black tarry stuff. there's basically no smell in this process, and very little alcohol fumes. especially since your source material is ABV, you'll want to purify it or it'll taste terrible.

* i can't take credit for this method. it came from here: http://forum.grasscity.com/harvesting-processing-marijuana/623945-grapestreet-frost-hash.html
