Huge clouds off the silicone as well(with a little more resistance, rougher on the throat as well I believe(I'll try the longer one you provided Dave, thanks)) , but although I like the softness if I hold it in my teeth, I felt the silicone affected the taste a bit.
Loving the thin glass stem, highest recommend, but I really think the key is resisting the urge to overfill the stem. Just a "tug-breath" or two is plenty to load the stem, often the second overfills and I tap a bit out. Both my glass and silicone stems produce clouds.
From the very beginning, my dog has delivered very dense vapor and performed beyond my expectation.

Dave, what's the expected lifespan @ approx 12 hrs daily? I leave it on due to the warm up, hope that isn't cutting into this puppy's time with me!

And again, forgive my newbie ignorance, but, what and when do I do with the Underbutter?

Not sure of the expected lifespan under any usage conditions but I would guess it shouldn't be a problem. If something does go wrong your piece will be covered under warranty for 2 years. If sometime comes up after your warranty we should be able to replace the heater for a reasonable fee.. so I'd say just enjoy your UD however you like and if problems arise we'll take care of them.

You can apply the underbutter whenever you like or never.. it's totally up to you. If you want to use it to shine up your UD I suggest plugging the piece in for an hour or two to get it fully warmed up then use a soft rag (I like t-shirt material) to rub a little bit of the underbutter into the piece. Can't really go wrong and a little bit tends to go a long ways.

Hey stroh I got the Tupelo Goblet back in the mail today.. thanks for sending it.

It looks like I'll be able to fix it up and retrofit a new core into the body without too much trouble and get it back out there in someone's hands. I think the new style core will work much better in the Tupelo and not have the same issues down the road with loosening of the core.

good to hear Dave!, the tupelo really is an awesome wood and i know it will make someone as happy as it made me before its untimely demise

though i have yet to order a glass stem, i have retrofitted my LB glass stem into a chopped 1/4" stem for oil and herb use, and i must say i do enjoy the feel of glass. also when you flip the silicone around to use it for oil, it builds up some resin that makes the herb pack last much longer and makes it harder hitting as well, win win situation in my book :D

Nice, experimentation is part of the UD fun.. :-)

Wait till you have a chance to play with the newest revision of the 3/8" core.. more heat, more airflow, 24/7 operation, more better. It should go well with the batch of uberTwigs I'm starting when I get back to the shop next week... :brow:

these "uberTwigs" you mention sound very interesting. any chance the ladybug will have this new 3/8" core? :cool:

I don't want to completely jinx things but I'm thinking that all pieces made from here on out will have the new core.. including the ladybug, the shroom piece and even Twigs. I'm testing right now and making final adjustments and hope to start producing the new cores next week... :brow:

Yep, the older core was already great.. but this newer one is even more awesome, it's been a long time coming and we're just about there!

I am running into a problem .. and i think is my charger.. Sometimes even after 2-3 hours of work.. it is very hard for my vape to regain fog power.. I am getting one-two big clouds.. if the heat up is long.. and then even with a new load i get almost no visible.. I think it has smth to do with the charger.. So i guess i need a new charger.. I have questions about characteristics of the the charger..
My stock charger is +output 12v 1 A
input 100-240V 0.4A 50-60 Hz
Questions.. The site states that 3/8 cores use 5w power.. W= V.A if i am right.. So wattage of my charger should be 12 w ? I guess it is not a big deal and it just uses 5w of the 12 supported or i am all wrong... I don't know shit about electricity..
So what should i be looking for ? 12V 5W 1A ? Is there such charger ? or should i just look into any 12v 1 A charger ?
I got in my hands adapter AC/DC Adapter 220-240 V ~50-60Hz 5w

Can i use this one.. ?
I hear some of you switch to 13 v charger (i might be needing that when i travel to my home town cause temps there are lower than here and i will need stronger charge for cold conditions..
Is it again 5 w ? What is making the charger stronger the 13 V ? Increased Wattage ? Amperage ?
Will 13.5 V work ?

Any 12v DC power supply rated at at least 1A (2A might be better) would work.. you can go as high as 13v but not for extended periods of time.

received my screen kit today and boy was that quick, thanks dave!

update: i am amazed at how lil herb i am consuming, i knew that log vapes were efficient but i didnt expect to get the huge hits that i get from my UD(especially a 1/4" core). in the last week i went through about 1g, maybe a lil more which is still GREAT imo. i was going through 1.5-3 g's a day so a lil over a g for a week is amazing :D.

as UD owners, how much herb are you guys/gals going through?

my herb consumption has been cut down quite a bit since i started using my dogs, i was easily an 8th a week toker before, now i am roughly 1-2 grams a week not counting oil.

Just ground up 1 gram at the time of this post taking the first hit from it with the UD. I'll try to remember to see how long it lasts. I've tried many times and either forget or give up keeping track for one reason or another.

I just did some ww bho in my dog mixed with some wild dagga.Oil was a white slimy crystal chunk with pungent aroma just like ww.. and was melting in my fingers off my body temperature.. .I did about 15 direkt hits... with clouds bigger than i ever saw.. Then after a short brake i took 10 vapebong hits... and switched for another 10 after stirring it to direkt draw.. .. 0.05 herb with the some real pure oil.. = 35 dramatic events..

This is becoming my favourite method of consuming bho :) LOL. Tastes clean ,takes just a little to go deep.. Clouds like in Avalon... Direct draw for stronger taste or vape bong for smoothening.. either are top notch.. with my dog. I never thought that a log vape would be so efficient on concentrates.. Also i like that concentrates stays in the silicon bowl and does not leaks/slides .. like on glass :) .It never passes the screen and bho leaves almost no residue on the bowl.. it does not make it dirty.. no charring.. pure vaporization :p

I am finally getting used to my glass. I don't think I have the best fitting glass stem there is, but I understand how impossible it is to make consistent perfect glass. That being said I've gotten used to how I need to use the glass stem now and I like it. I find for me personally I need to really fully pack the "mini stem" that attaches to glass. I feel like my silicone stems all hold a lot more herb in one bowl than the glass one. I'd just move the glass stems bowl down to make more space, but then it hits the glass so I can't. No big deal, I just remember to fully pack the glass stem and problem solved.

I'm sure its close to the same amount of bud to fully pack my "mini stem" as it is to normally pack the silicone only stem.

I was thinking of ordering a couple of the silicone stems for my rockzap to try and get a tighter fit... Are they compatible in size?

I assume your adapters and whatnot also work with the rockzap?
