Volcano Hybrid

Another shower thought to consider:
To those using the whip, how long is your session at temperature? Are you seeing significant heat build up?

I find that I have to load up that big bowl to get a 'good good' sesh, but that said, depending on strength of the herb and other variables, like being on your own, the big bowl can be anything from say 20/30 mins upto a couple of hours even longer depending on temps - but you have take the bowl off the appliance, or it will vape that stuff for sure, especially at higher temperatures!

Just saying:\, without saying;), not even saying:2c:, really:|

Pure peace:leaf:

Can it vape a whole bowl in one hit like the Flowerpot?

It’s definitely not a one hitter like the Flowerpot or the Sub but it’s also got a bigger bowl than both. It’s a session vape but what I’ve found is at top temperature it can do a whole bowl in one very strong bag, where as this would be 2 & a half bags using the Classic.

Using the whip it takes me 2 to 3 minutes to finish a bowl on high temp. That’s as fast as I can take the vapor at that temperature. I need to do one priming draw followed by 5 or 6 enormous hits & then the vapor starts to taper off very quickly.

For me, finishing a bowl in the Hybrid at top temperature is like having 4 or 5 Sub bowls in a row. I don’t think I’ve ever been medicated by a vape as strongly & quickly as I have with the Hybrid.

As for the Hybrid, it was kind of funny when it showed up. My wife about had a canary. She’s like: “OMG, what is that thing?! It’s over the top embarrassing, yada, yada, yada. Send that back!”. I’m thinking, “Yeah, maybe she’s right. This is a hookah lounge setup.”

As I started thinking about it, I was feeling like I spent way too much money and if this thing was anything less than stellar, I was sending it back for a refund.

Well, let me tell you, after experiencing this puppy for a couple days - it ain’t going anywhere (other than to a party at my brother’s house this weekend, lol). It is truly a BEAST, just like many others have said. The taste from the bags and the whip is really, really good. Not MV1 good but certainly substantially better than say, even the Mighty. The effects are also outstanding and hit me in a much more comprehensive way than anything from the handheld vapes. Very pleasantly baked, fully - off a bag and a couple whip hits. Kind of like a full body stone from a J. Maybe it’s because I have no idea yet, whether I should be sucking down a whole bag or not. Open up that valve and you won’t want to stop.

My conclusion would be that if you’re on the fence about this - just do it.

lol, exactly the same as it was for me, girlfriend was like "isn´t this overkill?" after i had a good vapesession i said to her with bloodshot eyes "honey, this thing has the best effects i´ve experienced in years, this ain´t going anywhere!"

i was nervous when i´ve ordered it and payed the money, it was like "wow, that is much money for a vaporizer" but now i am happy that i have done it.

sold my Plenty for 160€ too, so the Hybrid was 340€ for me (payed 500€ for the Hybrid including chamber reducer as a "used" device which was in use 20minutes according to the app lol)

my EQ is retired for now and my Mighty gathers dust as i don´t use it much when i am not at home i am full on the Hybrid now and it is all you really need when you primary vape at home.

sometimes when i am vaping a capsule after work in the weekdays i am like "not another capsule , otherwise i will go to bed immediately" i am still blown away how deep the effects go, this is definitely the strongest vaporizer i have ever used.

Using the whip it takes me 2 to 3 minutes to finish a bowl on high temp. That’s as fast as I can take the vapor at that temperature. I need to do one priming draw followed by 5 or 6 enormous hits & then the vapor starts to taper off very quickly.

yep, same here, with the whip i can vape a bowl in around 3 minutes if i want to but the effects are really strong this way and it keeps on hitting for like the next 25minutes the effects keep getting stronger and stronger.

Is there a trick to replacing the screens?

You should be able to pop the bottom screen out in either direction using your fingers. For the one on top, assuming you are wanting to clean the nozzle as well, remove the o-ring, and pop the nozzle out of the plastic housing. Then take a blunt-tipped object that will fit down the nozzle path (a phillips head screwdriver or something like that), and pop that screen out by pushing downward.

Assuming that the screens are not damaged you should be able to soak them in alcohol to get them clean, and use them again. With any luck you will be able to repeat that cycle for quite awhile and not have to replace your screens all that often.

Question: can I just dump the entire chamber (orange black piece with everything attached) into iso and shake it for a bit then let it soak?

Probably? If it's the same plastic as the Solid valve housing I never had an issue, but I'm not understanding why you would need to with how easily the metal bowl is removed. Unscrewing the top and bottom plastic housings while warm will prevent the two from sticking once cooled.

I purchased from Cream City Vapes on Sunday- code "CELERITY" gave 20% off with free shipping, no tax. I just checked and the code is still active, though the previously spotted mention of it on their site seemed to now be gone

This is my first order placed with CCV and I had a pleasant initial experience. In addition to the best price, shipping was speedy via USPS 2-Day Priority and discreet. She shipped out Monday, landed today and I'm about to un-package my new baby

S&B let me know the scratches on the conduction ring are normal wear & tear. This is good to know because all I got were crickets when I mentioned it here, but I’m not sure what I think about it yet.

The aesthetics don’t bother me, I mean I rarely look right into the lava pit but it is in the airpath & I do have concerns about scratching of the alloy in there. I’m kinda thinking it should have been stainless steel so this doesn’t happen, but I’m pretty sure those guys know what they’re doing & there are probably a few good reasons it’s not.

Anyway I’ve been really enjoying this thing so I’m off to scratch my ring some more.

I really like the Flower Pot but I haven’t used it for some time because I need to order new screens.
If you think you’ll like the Hybrid after reading about it you probably will.
Like you say it’s apples to oranges so it will give you a completely different vaping experience from the FP & for that reason you should enjoy using both from time to time. They’ll compliment each other nicely & you’ll have two very powerful vapes.
The FP is no slouch in the heat up department but the Hybrid is amazing & I’m finding that very handy.
I’ve never regretted a S&B purchase except for that one time I had to send my Crafty back three times.

You should keep doing that

Getting them out was easy,it’s getting them back in without wrinkling the crap out of em that’s the fun part

Shaping screens so that they fit right takes a little practice, but you'll be getting the hang of it fast. If you wrinkle it just pop it out, re-shape it, and try again. In my experience the hybrid has one of the easiest screen sets to work with. Easier than the mighty if you include the lower screen, and definitely easier than setting screens into many glass pieces.. Especially ones that are used with bongs where they are angled more sideways.

I may have had a few of those pop/slide out on me from not shaping and tensioning them right back in the day.

Having worked with so many other things there isn't really much to complain about with this device.

The screens look similar to the Plenty, if I mess mine up I just tap them flat with a hammer on a flat, hard surface. After they get used a bit they can get loose strands on the edges that make them hard to put in/out, I snip any of these 'dags' with nail clippers and that fixes the problem. I am still on my original screens in my Plenty coming up to 2 years now (it is used daily).:myday:

Question about when to put the filling chamber on the Hybrid:

Using a balloon or tube - do you put the chamber on the Volcano before or after it has heated up to the temperature you initially want? The manual seems to imply putting the chamber on after the Volcano has heated to temp and then giving a 5 second burst of air to prime the herb.

I bring a bowl up to temp before filling to ensure I am benefiting from the conductive heating effect. I place the bag on the bowl, put both on the volcano, and wait around 10 seconds for everything to heat up. When using a workflow, I program pauses to allow for the bowl to warm.

:lol:Well,I have a nice new Hybrid on it’s way to me.
Mainly convinced by the Merry feedback in this thread. So now it’s time to sell my Classic, that’s only about 2.5 months old.
The classic was kinda my first vape, after firefly 2,and I love the classic, but I need a whip, and faster heat, and the cool app.
I also have the wonderful Obsidian, which will definitely fit,so looking forward to it all
