If I had put it together it would have been the showerhead + Dcup but IIRC NV have said in the past they dont think the showerhead offers a different enough experience to still offer it outside of the parts section. (Would disagree with them there though - I still recommend the showerhead over the weedeater every chance I get)
I am also of the opinion that at 1150$, no one buying it is gonna be worried about the 25$ difference between the two heads.

VROD with SiC Dish ---> Iso bottle with ShovelHead bowl
My buddy just moved out so I don't have glass atm (arriving slow boat from China tomorrow or next few days), so took a quartz 18mm female to 18mm female and duct taped that bitch onto an iso bottle. Plastic heats up pretty good on the bottom when doing dabs (I crank it for live resin) but it's sort of that milk jug plastic, you know? It seems like it'd just melt at the temps that it sees, no plastic taste I can really detect. (Hope this is chill posting, haha, kind of messed up... $400 in vape gear, no glass, effin' silly, I agree). The mouthpiece is too small, with a fat dab of live resin I sometimes get like reclaim on my mustache, haha, it's pretty grody. I've never experienced that, lol.
I'm getting flower within the next few days (I hope), some Purple Punch, not as good as the last Purple Punch we had (different pheno, different grower) but still pretty flame, I guess. I might post a vid once I get the flower and glass in. My buddy took the grinder though, too, so I'm breakin' bud by finger when I have it, I feel like a caveman again. I ordered a Brilliant Cut grinder a few days ago so that will be worth waiting for. Weird transitional phase rn. Saving my avb currently, haven't ever really messed with it (or edibles for that matter) so don't really know what to expect.
So that's a bit of me, but anyways, I'm digging this VROD for sure. 700 with carb cap for flower, about 900 for shatter, 935 for live resin. I can't believe I didn't get the insulated handle for the carb cap when I ordered my kit, I thought that thing was for the bowl.And yee gods it's expensive. I might get a slender wooden dowel from Home Depot and chop it down/start drilling a hole progressively larger until I can press it on with friction, the dabber tool sort of increases in width as it gets closer to the carb cap, Idk, maybe it'll work. Has anyone done anything diy for an insulated carb cap handle? Is that proprietary threading? Am I a monkey for not thinking of something super obvious?

Haha, thanks. At least yours went through water before seeing plastic, I was pumping 900 degree heat straight onto plastic. Wish I had a picture of my old self-made, all glass, gravity bong that I used to hit everyday (before it got stolen). It was a gravity bong with a diy glass on glass ash catch as well as ice cath that the smoke passed through going in and going out; thing hit like a truck.

I'm taking a break from trates for a few weeks, and I've been getting some mucus so I wanted to go to mouth to lung vaping. I have the latest rev of the V-Rod and the latest carb cap with two holes. I have a titanium and a few glass bowls from dhgate.
what I'm doing now which is the most Joy I have gotten out of this and I got a V-Rod the day they came out , I've had every rev since is:
With my little mobius bubbler no water, heated to 590 or 600 Fahrenheit.
1/4 glass bowl of pretty nicely ground material( almost fine but not quite).
Using my original carb cap with one hole, the very first design that fit over the newer sic dish.
I throw the V-Rod and the carb cab on top of the bowl for a minute to heat soak everything, then take a pretty quick two or three second draw to get the material hot, all pretty much into the mouth not into the lungs. Exhale and then inhale and fill the bubbler with vapor (another three or four seconds slower inhale again into mouth only) that does produce some nice taste but not too much vapor on that hit, but my bubblers filled up with thick vapor at that point.
Then I take the V-Rod off and a couple seconds later empty the bubbler into my lungs, this rip is absolutely awesome.
Totally amazing taste, absolutely zero irritation or mucus build-up. I've been smoking weed 25 years, now been vaping for 5, I got to be a little careful, I was getting some pretty nasty white mucus. No more.

I'm running waterless and single hole carb cap for flower here, as well, it's pretty glorious. I might try lowering my temps and heat soaking the titanium bowl a bit like you suggest, that sounds dope.
I kind of did it out of necessity but I'm very glad I did ,The taste I've been getting since doing this has been some of the best

@Bumping Spheda Yessir, now you’re singing my tune! Anhydrous glass is just so damn tasty and cools well enough for me, that’s more dependent on the glass imo. Very rarely, I’ll use some distilled water but 98% of the time, it’s dry baby!

Hi fellow vapist, i have a question for the more technicaly inclined here, does anyone know the type of connector used by NewVape controller, I'm in the process to build a Raspberry Pi Zero Wifi enabled Enail box, in the like of @JCat , just because i like to thinker, before anyone start to whine about already made box, im a certified electrician, got a very solid base in electronics, its only because i want and i can do it, I already bought the standard auber controller with my VRod, but i want a double PID WI-FI enabled unit. I want to use NewVape coil, for max compatibilty with my Vrod, and maybe a future Dcup ? I think i found it but im not sure, but based on the Pin diameter, it seems to be a aviation WS-20-5 socket connector, can someone more knowlegable in the subject answer this ?
You're on the right track ... GX20-5 if I remember correctly.
Edit: ... actually it's a "reverse" GX20-5 ... the male pins are on the connector and the panel mount socket you want will have the female jack (this is the opposite of the standard aviation connectors used for CB's and what-not)
Edit Edit: GX20-5 Reversing Connector (Female Panel Mount) is what you are after. They are tough to find but they are out there. (Renhotec from China makes them for example). You may be able to find them on AliExpress or Alibaba or something.

yeah... harder to find than i expected.... as you were saying it's exactly this one but inversed.... been on aliexpress since this afternoon and nothing, cant even find it on the damn Renhotec pdf files.... and im used to looking in these datasheet.... nothing nada.... if its too hard, im simply gonna buy extention and modify them to work on my particular unit... 8 inch long adapter cord.... or just disassemble it for the connector.... we will see, ive email the suport service at NewVape, hope they gonna be cooperative and just give me the exact part number.... this way i will know what im looking for....

They’re not the manufacturer for the controller or coil, so they may not know. I had to replace the main portion of mine, and the part number they gave me was not correct and didn’t work.
I believe they’re actually manufactured by Vapecode, so if NewVape doesn’t have the answer you need, someone there should. Whether or not you can get to the right person though...

I need an insulated handle for my carb cap because when I heat soak it the handle gets hella hot. This thing is only $20 and it's insulated! A bit cheaper than the other insulated handle they sell, but made of Stainless Steel instead of Titanium. Thing is, the carb cap handle only gets hot hitting flower and I have two carb caps. So the two hole carb cap could have the dab tool screwed in and it will be perfectly fine for dabs. The two hole cap would circulate terp pearls better, I'd imagine, too, which I might mess with later. Then the single hole carb cap can have this handle on it and I can heat soak the heck out it for better flower hits. I think I might bite. The little shovel on the end is just a plus since I don't have anything like that yet, haha. Once I get a grinder it might come in handy, but for now I'm still using the technique of pre-crisping the buds so they powder-ize in my fingers, so I'm still fondling bud, I have no need for the shovel currently.
So, heads up if anyone is like me and would rather have two carb caps, one for dabs, one for flower. If you buy the handle I linked, with the money you save versus the other handle you can pretty much buy a second carb cap.

That's an awesome idea I'm going to order one of these now, since I'm using a glass bowl I'm using the small insulated handle that comes with the flower pot titanium bowl on my carb cap.

Heh, the silicone still gets plenty hot, trust me. It's not going to work how you think it will. I got one of these with the VROD kit and tried this.
The wooden handle is amazing. There is a reason it's the price it is. It's extremely well built, and yes, you can leave it on there for hours and still pick it up just fine.
When it comes to New Vape, make no compromises!
