I just played the tutorial and a quick game, what a complex game!! But seems like a lot of fun... can it be played online??

Hell yeah. Watch out its addictive... Civ 5 should be coming out soon so, I would wait on it because Civ 5 is going to be leaps and bounds ahead of Civ 4. Sid Meier games are great...

I am waiting on Civ 5, so can't play you online... but you don't need to even play online, they have tons of scenarios that will keep you busy for hours... plus each culture has certain benefits and special units

Yeah I'm already getting hooked, bad news. And it isn't like I actually 'paid' for Civ IV. I'm interested to see what is in store for Civ V.

I played a very blocky version, Sid Meyer's Civilization... Then played a later version (II, I guess?) it had some nice video that the DVD allowed over CD format. The third version started to bore me, not that it wasn't a challenge, I just moved on. It's a totally educational thing. You can't walk away unchanged, but as suggested it can get to be an obsession. Civ and Gran Tourismo, it was an early retirement diversion. Rule the wold and drive like James Garner or Steve McQueen. Fun. :2c:

I almost fell into the WoW trap on a trial... I recognized early how addictive it could be and proceeded to throw it in the garbage. Probably one of my better decisions...

The cool thing about Civ 5 is going to be the Hex movement. So from each square you can move in 6 directions. Civ 1-2-3 had some real odd movement where you would like dance with the enemy.

Sim City was a ton of fun to..

Geez Gran Turismo Lol... I remember doing some of those races that were like.. 200+ laps and took HOURS even when you had like 10 laps on everyone and had to just keep going for some dumb award.

Portal is a really good game! Somebody made an interesting flash 'port' of it too... obviously not the real thing but it's pretty cool.

I've been playing Civ IV. I don't like it as much as Civ Revolution which is a bit newer and for PS3 / Xbox 360. Civ IV is still very good though.
