Vaping & surgery

Hello all,

I will be having my Deviated Septum repaired (Septoplasty) in a few weeks. Do you think vaping during the healing time is okay, i hear its painful for the first couple days after and im hoping vaping can act as a pain killer and help me kill time (ill be off of work for a week).

Any thoughts? Does it thin the blood...if so that would be bad and i should not do it.

when i was instructed by my oral surgeon not to smoke, I asked him about vaping. He wanted me to stick to edibles for a while, but i still vaped some.

yeah i think ill wait a day then do very small amount of vapping each day.
im just worried if thc thins the blood.

rabican,
If it makes you feel any better, I had surgery on my spine, and I vaped right before I went in to get the procedure done. No complications due to thin blood whatsoever. I also vaped as soon as I got home. Again, it's up to you, but I see no problem in it.

For some reason when I opened this thread I thought you were asking a question about vaping whilst conducting surgery.

I had my surgery yesterday morning, its painful and the splits up my nose for 3 days is horrible. I only was able to get 3 hrs of sleep last night :( I vaped 2 times and combused once (for sleep...although it didn't work). Vaping helped with the pain very well, I'd say better than the prescribed meds. It made me feel normal.

Anyways I'm gonna try to get some more sleep then wake n bake ;)

Thanks guys pece

iv had 1 surgery (hand) and vaped afterwards.... healed with no issues.. .it was a big fracture too.

I was told by my orthos though, smoking and fractures/surgeries shouldn't be mixed.... and I never did combust during that time.... healed up in time.. didnt take extra time.

Glad you made it through your surgery Rabican! I hope your recovery goes smoothly!!

Lo,
Happy to hear everything went all right, Rabican. Isn't it a relief to get it over with. Like a huge load off your back. Now all you have to do is deal with the healing pain. I agree that vaping helps tons, physically, and mentally. Keep your head up (and high :ko: ), and you'll be feeling better in no time.
