The Mighty/Mighty+ by Storz & Bickel

I have owned two Mighty's going on 2 years. One of my Mighty's I bought used still under warranty from a forum member. I just sent one of the two vapes back in on warranty for cracked ribs. They didn't have my Mighty for a day before getting back to me and letting me know they replaced or fixed it. I'm cool either way, I love the Mighty. Took a whole darn week in total. Really can't complain seeing the warranty was due up in November.
I also own the Volcano. I like having multiple ways to vape. One way is not always the right way for the current medical need.
Let me know what happens whether it is replaced or fixed. My case has been split for about 10 months now, it causes no problems but wondering if I should send it in.

Over here in the UK, we tend to mix allot of tobacco and I can't really say no to a spliff going round, but it did set the craving again...

I'm total pro vape, but at my friends he has a Plenty and I just find it doesn't match up to the volcano vapour quality and we normally end up smoking. I never ever smoke when the cano is in sesh. I do think most people associate the lack of oxygen to be getting high as do they with intense nicotine rush that one gets from a joint. It's also the stuff that causes health issues and paranoia... I'm on board.

I just wonder if I would be better off going down the enail path, although I thought it was combustion. I clearly have a lot to learn, which is why I'm here.

As for VAS being real, I don't have the money to spend on hardware and I really can't understand why people with the 'cano would get another desktop. I'd much rather spend the money on the plant product that goes inside. It will be a massive expenditure again to get the Mighty. I am considering a butane powered vape...

I was like you a couple of years ago. I bought the Plenty and it was ok. But then I got a Mighty soon after and I was instantly converted to vaping. Then the VAS kicked in. It's easily S&B's best vape IMO and STILL my favourite portable! Like @ChooChooCharlie it's my hotel vape.

Wow that's allot of vapes. VAS will not be an issue with me, I liken it to HiFi or car enthusiast's spending all their cash to be the ultimate. I've got kids, so all money goes on them.

I keep the 'cano clean and I've honestly never thought I needed to upgrade or side step and I doubt that I ever will. I wouldn't mind something that makes no noise. I just don't get how anything can be better than a forced air vape for the quality and coolness of the vapour. I have to say I go for a joint over the Plenty every time I'm at my friends...I would never choose a joint over the volcano.

It does look like the Mighty is the one for me, I have looked. One thing I need to be careful of is VAS envy here cause we all know that enthusiasts are obsessed with 'Expense and Inconvenience'

I think the target is acquired (THE MIGHTY) In all honesty I'd rather spend the money on making AVB than hardware, but a portable is needed if I'm to quit all combustion.

For battery vapes i started with a flowermate, then a davinci, and pax - then sold the last two after getting a mighty, so the saying 'who buys cheap buys two(or more) times' is correct. Main reason was it just felt so inefficient using any other vape than the mighty, so add the economic factor of getting the most out of the herbs, while it's turning into abv, that will add up quickly ;)
I always went back to combustion being away from home with some people before having the mighty, it was just too much fiddling with loading, stirring, clogging and so on with the pax and davinci. Most portables are not suited to use with more than 2 people around. Now i just preload some capsules and i'm good anywhere...
i'm also a HIFI / acoustics freak, i even build speakers, andi it's pretty much the same - start with the best and you're set for the next 20 years.
Now i get a bit polemic, but what is the cost of a new lung? - also stopping combustion can make the difference of seeing some grandchildren in your life or not.
But i don't get your impression about the plenty, maybe the load fell a bit to the side and didn't cover the whole screen? - the coil can also be precooled in the fridge, but u are right no need for it if you have the cano.
As you have mentioned butane vapes - my favourite are vaponic(really cheap) and vapman, with the cano and mighty thats 98% of my rotation. the last 2 % are vapcaps(quick hitter) and the flowermate(only for concerts/festivals).
Nice thing about the vaponic is, its a very joint like experience with the heating and allows 4-5 draws with one heating cycle, also very good taste. I would say ex-joint users prefer vaponic, ex-one hitter users prefer a vapcap.
The Vapman is just nice swiss engineering and craftmanship, the mostly conduction heating offers a different punch. My preferred outdoor vape, it works in any weather condition.

Wow - lots to consider. Re people replacing the 'cano with a mighty. It just won't happen for me. The bags contain pure gold, I get my extracted vapour milk every month and I love it.

Another factor is that the Mighty only goes up to 210 cano 230, and I do go all the way up. I've read that the optimum temp for emergency THC release is 226. Although I find it harder to cain a bag that high up it helps my wife when she's having a panic attack in a way that no other drug. can.

I find there are lots of people that sold the cano to fund the Mighty or other vapes. There are also people saying that the volcano produces more hot air than the mighty, well it's forced air so it makes sense!

As for the Plenty it's limited by the cord and I didn't feel that it's anywhere near the quality of the vape produced by the cano. Going through the transition again (stopping combustion) I know that I need to go full time cause I get shortness of breath and I also find that if I smoke I tend to get wheezy on the cano and cano is the priority. I do find joints a frustrating experience now. I can't taste anything and I find that I'm always chasing something that never actually happens - ie getting properly stoned. I don't have the funds for the Mighty at the moment, but selling the cano will not happen regardless. patience is a virtue and all.

Considering my stance I do wonder if a light up unit would do the job. I only smoke away from home 4-5 times. Otherwise it's bags all day for me.

I was lucky, got a used cano on ebay for 170€, that won't happen with a mighty
Now way selling a cano for a mighty - or reversed ;)
Cano is still the vape with the most possible convection on the market - no way of getting that in a portable, the mighty has a bit more conduction added (alone the smaller bowl diameter leads to more conduction) but the heater is still the best solution on the market imo.
But about the temp - a finished herb bowl in the mighty at 210C won't yield much in the cano at 230C afterwards. Only exception is traditional hash, it needs more temp - but even the cano is a bit low for some types, i prefer the vaponic here.
I mostly stop at 200 with the migty, there is a lot of nonsense about the temps in the net but for transition from smoke to vape higher temps are better. When the carvings are over low temps get just tastier (try a bag at 5.5 on the classic)
So maybe look for a vaponic on ebay or amazon, cheapest vape afaik but one of the best tasting i know of. Simple ingenious design and the marker case makes it easy to carry without paranoia. It has a bit of a crack pipe look but that won't matter much if you don't consume out in the open, as i'm guessing here...

I may check out the vaponic. It does seem slightly crack pipe like, but it will probably stop me from smoking by the looks. I can't help but thinking that I'll end up buying the Mighty at some stage anyway.

@BudCrow - I have both a Cano and a Mighty. I love both. They are indeed different but in no way do I find the Mighy's vapor to be insufficient or not dense enough. Different that a bag vape, but definitely extracts and provides thick vapor, IME.

I am a higher temp, med for pain and sedation, vaporist. I run my Mighty at 385 with my boost mode set to 410. AVB comes out nice chocolate brown (on the dark side milk chocolate LOL).

If you want a portable and are happy with your Volcano, then you will be happy with a Might, IMO.

Bought the Mighty like 5 weeks ago and had a great time with it. It's an AMAZING vaporizer!

Some random observations:
  • My fav vape temp: 170-180 Celsius (338-356 Fahrenheit)
  • Low temp vaping = very good flavor, mostly head high
  • High temp vaping = okay flavor, head and body high
  • The dosing capsules fit about 0.1-0.15 gram (depends on grind and herbs)
  • I highly (!) recommend the dosing capsules. They are not expensive and keep the Mighty clean. I seem to get a little more vapor with the caps. Dosing is easy and I did not notice a difference in taste.
  • Want to micro-dose? Get the liquid pads for the dosing capsules. They work great with small amounts, better than using no caps and only the liquid pad.
  • The caps are easy to clean. I use them several times, no problems so far.
  • The Mighty is amazing for passing around in groups.
  • You can't really do anything wrong with this device. Fine grind, coarse grind, long draws, short draws, sipping, caps or not... everything works. I like long slow draws best, but it doesn't really matter how you do it. The results are always good and consistently amazing.
  • Need a water pipe adapter? Buy this one. It's the only wpa I've tried so I have no comparison. But it works flawlessly. Careful though: You might lose warranty if you use a water pipe adapter.
  • The device doesn't get hot at all when in use. It gets warm, yes, but never hot.
  • One full load without a capsule/pad is about 0.255 gram (depends on grind and herbs)
  • If you fully fill the oven your session can easily last more than 20 minutes with like 20 hits. Awesome! Got me high for about 4.5 hours, that's crazy. Loved it!
  • There is virtually no draw resistance (at least compared to the Arizer Solo)
  • If you don't use dosing capsules and want to do small amounts put the liquid pad on top of your load.
  • The only vapes I've tried so far are the MFLB and the Arizer Solo. In my opinion the Mighty is far superior to both of them. The Milaana and a Vapcap M are on the way though. Yes, VAS is real!
Btw, this thread was very helpful. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences! :)

Hi everybody,

Something is up with the airflow on my mighty and I don't think it's the CU because it's clean. Any ideas please??

Checking in to say my Mighty is still chugging along. I have owned it since 05/09/15 and it has not given me any issues at all. It's not my daily driver and it gets used every now and then, but that's because it hits so hard that i usually can't even finish a session. I guess my tolerance is really low. However, i do use it when I hang out with the fam and they love it as well. It's a great session vape and I haven't felt the need to buy any other vaporizers because I've got it covered with my 2012 solo that still works, the mighty, and three Grasshoppers. I guess I have a problem and should get rid of some Gh's lol.

ok.................???
just blow in the bowl when it's hot with an air compressor, if you don't have one: no prob's just go too your nearest gass station as they will have one,for pumping up your car tyres.(or cleaning out your vape:rofl::rofl:)
basically, the thing that is going on in your case(i"ve been there a few time's)is the fact that dust does cling to the heather, really i don't know why but it does,(i'm hoping a intelligent person like @OF shine's his light on this)lol.
but again very easy to solve, with a gas staion nearby.:leaf:.
P.S. i go to my gas station for this reason about once a week......they love seeing me coming in.....

Thanks guys, it's definitely not the CU but i did blow some compressed air into the heater (ran out) and it seemed to increase the airflow a bit. Time for a trip to the gas station lol.

I started with the flowermate too, but now when I compare it to mighty, it seems that the fm was lightly combusting. Thats amazing hobby, how do you usually save when you build the speakers by yourself? Love music and hifi audio. I was thinking about building amp. Great to hear that about vapman, there is a little hole on the top of that thing, is it possible that butane gets into vapor? thx

Tried the mighty for the first time with weed last night and i'm never smoking a spliff again. Perhaps the biggest advantage is the lack of paranoia and not waking up the next morning feeling like total shit. And it was actually nice to taste the weed for a change (lemon haze!) instead of inhaling noxious tobacco fumes.

I was just lying here thinking about the smashed tamper (clear conical/cylindrical part) from my once-useful filling aid. It occurred to me that the filling aid would probably work the same if the tamper part was just incorporated onto the clear lid part. Right?

That way klutzes like myself would not drop the small clear part and run over it with their heavy power chair.

Yeah, Ryan it would work. Mine has occasionally stuck on that way simply from resin.
So, get over it! and order a new filling aid already. Then put a couple drops of 5 minute epoxy on the cylinder before closing the lid, so it will be set in the right alignment.
Try to put an order together that will get to the $25/free shipping limit.

Great tip!! Used my air compressor and it made a huge difference in airflow. I didnt realize how restricted it had become.

maybe look for something similar shaped like a pen cap or a piece of wood - or press some bud to the shape, that way you could at least scrape some rosin from the floor after rolling over it :D

I have thought about that. Really anything cone shaped should work, as long as I can cut it at the right place.
