Thank you! If I didn't buy through the manufacturer would the warranty be valid? And if not, can I pay to have it repaired?

It It was quite a while ago so I doubt the warranty would still be available. I believe I bought it off amazon so it might have not offered one since it wasn't through the manufacturer. I will check that. But I don't mind paying if its not too steep.what is my next step?
