I happen to have a ps2 slim power adapter in my office here -- the plug is too large for the solo just looking at it -- you'll need an adapter On another note, look for some battery replacement pictures shortly ;)

Just to let you guys know the battery indicator information is not always accurate -- I've played around with the solo and kept it going on and on and it's gone 36 minutes when it indicated no battery life and it still wasn't dead.

Is the smell more distinct at the top or bottom of the unit

the heater is pretty much self contained so I'm not certain what this smell could be. Unscrew the top, maybe you've been cooking some bugs with it haha As for the autoshutoff its going to be a little harder to pinpoint the correct pin but I'll figure it out

It just uses tones. I'm just going by how people have disabled heating pads by putting a resistor from vcc to res

12 mins is just how they programmed it -- they didn't want people running down their batteries because they forgot to turn the unit off.

Looked over the datasheet, a 10k resistor from pin17 to pin15 will disable the autoshutoff. This will however not help many people haha

tested it out with a 2amp 9v power adapter and it wasn't function correctly. Measured the amperage as it was operating with the battery and it peaked at 2.5amp or safer a 3.5amp 9v adapter would work. Also it would appear the heating element using induction to heat instead of ceramics -- its...

heading to the electronics shop today -- expect a way to disable the 12 minute shutoff and the requirements for the 9v ac adapter :)

We charge at 12v 1amp because that's what the batteries like to be charged at.

They are connected in series inside the pack -- which makes it 7.4v There are 2 x 3.7v 2200mah connected together / a protection circuit wrapped in heat shrink. Edit. Damnit you beat me to it haha

These are actually what you want http://cgi.ebay.com/UltraFire-18650-3000mAh-Rechargeable-Battery-3-7V-red-/160620348822?pt=US_Batteries&hash=item2565b80596 You can find them cheaper out of hong kong, but for 2 bucks more its nice to have them quickly and in north america. I'll buy them and...

The only chips that I can identify and haven't been sanded are dual op-amp chips which obviously do one thing when receiving 12v and another when receiving 9v. There is also a battery protection ic as well of course.

I have no idea to be honest. I don't even think the air comes from the little holes in the heating element. I think the airflow comes from the sides of the glass. It's either that or where the two pieces of the heating element come together. That's why they say looser is better.

Here you guys go. And the only way for a seller to know if the stems fit snug or not is to open up the packaging sent from arizer... so you can be sure if your unit is truly new or not.
