It is probably worth noting that I can not draw through the stems when they are in. I either have to lean them hard to one side (they wobble) or pull the stem halfway out the chamber.

Wow, some great insight here. If not the holes, what could cause restriction of air flow with these other areas?

Ok, so after taking off the lid of the solo and drawing directly with my mouth on the element, it does seem like one of the holes has an intermittent clog which changes the airflow suddenly when it gets blocked. How can I fix this, blowing through the element hasnt worked.

I got it mid July. It worked great every day, until a week ago or so.

My solo is acting up again, the airflow is all weird again even with the new stem. I notice that if I push the stem down against the heating element I can not even draw air in. Is this normal? How can you clean the element, im afraid to use much iso on it, but there is a discolored ring at...

Personally, I prefer to leave the stems all glass, I just am not keen on adding a metal screen to the airway. How fine of a grind do you guys use? I am learning that a coarser grind is ideal.

Does anybody have any tips on getting a more even heating on the contents? I start at 3/4 and work up to 6, but I find the bottom of the ABV is very dark while the top is still quite light yellow.
