Those are all FF1 parts. Mine didn't smell bad, but the foam insulator left faint residue on the top plate. Is the foam on the lid smelly? And yes, the lid seems to be plated as opposed to SS. Could be mistaken though.

That really irritated me too...sounds like marketing talk to me, because the difference to the un-coated devices would be negligible imo. Would have preferred if they had just wrote "Look guize, fancy color hype!" or something instead.

Stainless steel shouldn't degas at all. You would have more chance of the rubber of the o-rings, the foam lid insulation and the paint inside the chamber degassing if anything. The weld points that join the coil to the PCB could degas slightly I guess... The air is pulled in through the back of...

Yeah, sounds legit bloke. Some people use Arizer screens which seems to help too. Just feel like I'm fixing something that should be better than it is though. Sorry for all the salt guys...
