Wait, wait, hooooold on: did you vape the wax in the aromatherapy cup or through a stem to inhale? That stuff is a mix of mineral oil and beeswax: I think it's OK to put it in the copper cup, but as was mentioned, don't try to dab it or vape it, its for wood!

do you need the vvps (vK) thing for it to work?
is the underdog efficient as they say it it been reading alot of the thread ? is the underdog just like the e nano ?

underdog is a lot like the e nano. if you go a few pages (maybe even just one or two), you will see someone asked a very similar question. i'm not an authority at all, but i have both: here is what I notice:
UD is DC power, and is a little more efficient power wise (IIRC ~10 vs ~15w), nano comes with a dimmer, that is an add on for UD (I found it un needed however). UD stems fit in a sleeve around the heater core. Long story short: you can get better 1 hit extraction when using NonG's or any stainless tip stem. It is very efficient, I'm not a gas chromospectro-CSI-Miami machine, so I can't tell you which is more efficient overall. However, for 1 hit extraction the UD is better. They are both very efficient and easy to use.

@underdog , I was looking for a parts list and possibly instructions of putting together on of the buck/booster vvps units.

Not much to it really, just the VVPS buck/boost box, a cable that you cut in half and strip the ends of and then 4 screws that you put the wires in and tighten. Lastly you'll need a DC extension cord to run from the VVPS to your vape. You can use your existing UD cord if you have one.

The links are below, I also threw a 12v wall-wart on there (to feed the buck/boost) in case you needed one.

Yes. Usage rates will vary (quality, tolerance, etc.,), but it is very efficient.

Over the last 8 months, my average has been 6.5g per month. For comparison, roughly 18-28g/mo. way back in the combustion days. 14g/mo using the CRZ (previous gen log). Even down from the 10g/mo. that I previously averaged using the UD. All without any intentional effort to cut back, or feeling like I was missing anything. Not only is the UD efficient, it has lowered my tolerance making me more efficient as well.

I write this to show new and old users alike that there are mysteries to be solved in the mundane.
Late 50's, Mid-America a middle class household. My Dad was a salesman who kept his records in the trunk of his car. He would on occasion send us out to fetch from the trunk different things. He would toss his keys and tell us what to get. At my house serving Dad in any fasion was precious and valued. A pat on the head from him was the world. A caoustic remark could scar you forever.
Even back then I was so eager to please I would overlook the obvious. A ring of 15 keys. All shapes sizes. I would start trying them and the frustration gave way to puzzlement and fear as I consantly lost my place and never could get right key. After too long Dad would come out and shout "Round Key or Square Key " (can't remember which) but to my horror all the keys looked alike with notches and still no diserable difference. Eventuall Dad sent out one of my brothers who would take keys, humiliate me and take my rightful place as dad's lapdog.
I was telling about my frustrations to a friend when I was 30 and he tossed me his keys and had me demonstrate. To my shock and awe he told me to look at other end of keys. Square, round, oval all appeared to me as the clouds parted. Simple right?
That brings us to today. 3 year vaper. 2 1/2 years Underdog owner. Bougfht 4 and gave to family. I never hooked to water because I envisioned whip added to ground glass stem and it seemed very unwieldy so never explored. I saw a picture of a stack on Redit and all those stupid glass hunkballs that came with chinese bongs sudenly made sence. One hitter, Nano and Underdog all been chugging away. A picture is indeed worth several thousand words.

Clogged screens and all I have is hydro peroxide and dish soap. I've been able to achieve some decent rips but still not totally sold. I know I'm using only the glass stem with gong and nylon direct draw stem. I'm finding the screen to clog up excessively and dry hits don't even seem possible because well I always only get 1 hit even out of the glass. I try to pack a tad over the screen and usually with a slow long draw am able to see vapor in the stem, it seems like twisting the stem helps for some reason aswell, after the hit generally there is a tiny amount of black and most of the weed is brown. I ofte just blow it out and pack again. The problem I'm having is getting a very big hit in a smaller amount of drawing time. I try to pack smaller but it seems like when it at the screen bowl level or below I'm not even getting a hit and most of the time no vapor, so I need and try to pack larger bowls so I can get more smoke out the 1 hit. So far still challenging to use but I think some progress has definitely been made on how to use it, unlike the frustration I had before

Just wanted to say I got my dog (s) today. Mine came with a pup. Yahoo! I'm very impressed, and was hitting the bigger vape 20 minutes after ripping open the shipping box. I have not had to adjust it much. The buck/boost was set at 12.5 and I lowered it to 11, .5 at a time. Does 11 sound about right? For me that worked on a glass stem and the metal tipped nylon stem as well. I was surprised how long I hit the glass stem, almost like a ssv session.

Anyway thrilled with my purchase so far, and very intrigued with the pup. Finding a battery pack for it sounds like my next logical step. Are they variable voltage too? Any advice on finding, using one? Such as, will I need more wires, plugs or anything else assessary wise?

That cracked me up (not in a mean way at all) & also made me realze that there is a lot for people to learn/discover about vaping & sometimes we assume too much. I still remember my lightbulb moment when I was cleaning my EQ elbows & thought they looked about the same size as my 18mm slides......within an hour I had discovered the joys of vape bonging & that lead to lurking FC.

That's the cool think about this forum it is 99% helpful folk 1% arseholes. Not a bad ratio at all .

I felt a bit sick looking at @Magic9's consumption as I would be happy using 6.5g a week let alone a month :o!

If you are having trouble with your screens I suggest flame cleaning if a suitable solvent is unavailable @KiefVape but I really can't understand where the problem lies. I am thinking it is a weed quality issue as it you have a black "crust" & brown ABV then the UD is working & working well.

Welcome to the family @shredder & I am sure you will enjoy your new family members. Remember a dog is for life & a well looked after dog is a happy dog. Mines coat is looking particularly fetching after a nice wax rub down whilst still hot.

What is up people?
So I finally got my hawaiian monkeypod dog delivered. I have spent the past several hours with it and i must say....I love my first dog.
I'm super lazy atm but I will post a pic soon because I'm very excited. It's that thing people talk about but no one believes it to actually exist. It's super real and friggin' legit. Now I just need an 18mm WonG, my FC-187 to arrive, figure out what VVPS to get. (The answer is a few pages back I just can't recall that info atm)

I am starting to come around to the idea of less is more with the UD. You only need to pack .05 into a NonG & get a satisfying single rip extraction. It is not a massive hitter like my EQ but I will take 3 x NonG's over 1 x .15 EQ basket & that is a single hit extraction @230c.

I am also hoping this sucker turns up in the next few days. I will be suitably impressed if the UD can milk it. My dog has no issue milking my 12" bubbler & a 16" one will be easier for me to use on the coffee table .

Nice, glad you're enjoying your Pup so far. 11v sounds like a good point on the VVPS, that's about where I run mine with the current Dogs.

As far as battery packs go this one has been recommended.. it's the replacement to the 4 battery model many of us have been using for the past year or two but this one holds 5 batteries. The voltage is variable in .5v increments from 5v to 13v so basically perfect for a Dog.

::edit:: An actual link would help I suppose... - http://www.amazon.com/185-TY-Monito...1G4IOK70PHS8Y&psc=1&ref_=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl

::edit #2:: And the battery pack shown above should come with the needed cables.. basically one for charging and one to connect the battery to the Dog. We suggest using your regular extension cord with the battery pack as well so as to protect the battery pack cord from flex fatigue. :peace:

So could that battery pack also be used as a cheap desktop vvps?

I still need to post pics but I'm also curious about variable voltage to try different temps (mine runs ~350-360f)

After you add 5 Panasonic batteries it's $77. So not cheap, but I think it would be doable.

My plans are to power up a pup, and I have the buck boost dealio already. Works well BTW.

And thanks underdog for the info!

The battery pack has limitations compared to a true VVPS. Although the battery pack does go up in .5 volt increments, it is more practical to get the battery pack set to your sweet spot and then hook up the dog. In order to change the voltage you need to disconnect the dog, change the voltage on the battery pack, then reconnect the dog. This is a safety measure to keep you from accidentally putting too much voltage into a device. I think shredder is right. The buck and boost dealio will allow you to find your sweet spot without resorting to batteries at all. Power from the wall is much more economical than power from batteries.
The power pack linked a couple posts above is $18. Panasonic 18650 batteries are 6 for $36 so you can get the battery pack and batteries for $54 (Quite a bit less than shredder quoted). Funny thing about the Amazon listing. Depending on when you check the site the product is sometimes listed as Amazon Prime with two day shipping. Other times the battery packs are only available shipped from China.

Good post Commander!

Went back and looked, I paid $53.86 for batteries and pack. In true stoner mode, I can't remember where I got the $77 number from.

I did not know it was a hassle to adjust the battery pack. Your post straightened me out, thanks!

so what would a better vvps be for around or under $60?

Also, pics of my new dog.
