I agree with you about the kits. I wish I had rich friends or knew a head shop owner.

Yeah me too :/ Oh well, the seem to be making progress so far. I check the fundraising amount far too often tho, need to get a life :p

Are you asking if they will add goodies to buyers if they reach the goal? As far as I know, no.

If you want to add accessories, add the price of the item to your donation and email them that you want that accessory.

I'm sure that every accessory they have on indiegogo will be available afterwards, I mean, why offer a smell proof case for your item only once?

Thanks for the reply! I actually just emailed Trevor about this and he said that the accessories like the case will likely not be available for quite some time after the units are (hopefully!) made and distributed in February, unless they are preordered during the fundraising. Also, the accessories might just be saved as perks for the people who helped fund them initially, tho that is yet to be determined.

TL;DR if you want an accessory like the case soon, you should order it and help out their campaign now :)

I've followed quite a few kickstarters, and I can almost guarantee this is going to be funded. However, I do think that the retail kit doesn't offer enough benefits for many store owners to bite on this type of product.

It's hard to invest $2250 on a product they haven't tried, especially since most stores this product would cater to are small and independent. I've worked at an independent electronic store myself, and leftover stock is a b**** to move when nobody has ever heard of the product.

If there was a promise of being one of the first retailers and getting future retailing pricing, the ability to send stock back, or even a "if you're a retailer and have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact us" type of thing, I think it could gain a bit more traction.

I think that potential dealers would also be interested in the value-added propositions, like the cases.

But as those don't yet exist, the main draw for now is to be the first to the marketplace, as in first to have the Grasshoppers in stock.

Vaping is a way of life!
I got my fingers crossed, Grasshopper with its advance tech is sure to make a splash. Take a look at the PAX and how well it did, this is advanced beyond most vapes, I feel confident having aerotech/aerospace guys on this mission. Taking performance, beauty & stealth to another level.
I had a PAX and not to hate on PAX but the taste was not to my liking either, Iam steered towards the convection aspect of the grasshopper.

Just think... if O'bummer actually went out with a splash, and re-scheduled a certain controlled substance with an executive order and issued presidential pardons to those disenfranchised by these draconian laws on his last day in office. It could happen, and if the GH is up to snuff it would indeed be very well-positioned.

By the looks of the campaign and reddit, they are gonna need retailers to jump on the ship to be able to reach the goal. Also what will the price point be of the zenpen if the indiegogo campaign is successful?

It's been a good morning for them, $2748 more raised already.

As for retailer support... @PlanetVape? @Puff It Up? You could get your names on that page and make a show of support! :-)

Yea just checked the campaign page. I remain hopeful, but to be realistic at this pace they need retailers to commit to the indiegogo to make the 100k goal. Or like someone said on reddit, an angel donor might come.

I have a feeling I'll be jumping in to support this one too ... looks intriguing and Canadian :)

Just have to figure out how to fund it ...

If this pace continues they'll exceed their goal. Ignoring the rest of today, they'll need $2297 per day to hit the goal. That's about 23 SS Grazenhoppens per day.

@Zenpen

If the circuit board and firmware haven't been finalized, would it be possible to incorporate a stealth mode with an internal switch where if you're not connected to the charger you could switch into stealth mode and disable the LEDs?

In a dark place where you need to be discreet, those LEDs could be a problem. Since the air intake holes do double duty letting the LEDs shine through, you can't just block them with a piece of black tape. If you have a full battery and you turn on the Grasshopper and wait for a full minute, you'll know the pen is ready without needing to look at any LED status indicators.

Can you do it? :ninja:

Stretch goals are up. That is a neat looking WPA concept!

I'm sure a simple DIY tape or leather sleeve could solve that issue. I feel that kind of feature would be nice, but not too high on their priroriity list.

Would I need permission to set up a donation bucket outside the local Walmart? 60,000 shoppers, one dollar a pop, booya, we have production.

.....Ok, several Walmarts.

DIY tape will not work. I don't think you read my post carefully enough. So I'll repeat with different words...

If you block the LED holes, you block your air intake.

I apologize. Just woke up.. Yea I guess the only solution would be a stealth mode.

i guess, i'd prefer something less complicated, like for example the wpa of the lotus. the mix of different materials here certainly involves a lot of try and error.

or by covering the lights with the palm, like the soldiers in WWII did with cigarettes, hiding from the enemy snipers :)

I have to agree, that new video is not helping their cause. All good portables I have used need to warm up for a couple of minutes before they produce really good vapor, I'd be interested to see the first hit after letting it heat for a couple mins.

Did you guys see the first use video with around a 40 second heatup on 80% power? That one has decent enough vapor production.

The "new" video should be relabeled to "low temp, short puff" instead of "new" so people don't get the wrong idea IMO. People wanted a quick heat up, low temp video, so that's what they did.
