My first time trying edibles

Yeah. Last time I had that happen to me, I was walking around in circles with no where to go. :uhoh:

Maybe you got some really potent edibles too, like me. If I had two bad experiences, I'd probably stay away from them too.

IMO, I don't think anyone should eat cannabis edibles and drive a car. I know I certainly wouldn't want to. That is one thing I like about vaporizing. I can control my dosage so that I can drive. I don't think that is possible with edibles.

The really strange part about the Brazil trip was that my buddy took the exact same dose as I did and he swears that he never felt anything at all. These were capsules sold in dispensaries, so I would've thought that they should've been accurately dosed. I'd also taken the same dose before with virtually zero effect.

:peace:

Yeah. Even if you don't overdo it, it's still a different high than either vaping or smoking. The THC, when it gets broken down by your liver transforms it to something a bit different than the cannabinoid makeup that you get when you smoke or vape.

How long does it take for a dose to wear off? An estimate is fine. I know it depends on the dosage, but I have no idea how much cannabutter my friend used when she made these brownies. They are extremely potent, I know that. I dosed at 3:20pm this afternoon, and I still feel it.

Yup. Typically, depending on how much you've eaten beforehand, it takes about 1 to 2 hours to begin to feel it, another hour of climbing to the peak, about 2 hours spent there, and then a slow comedown for about 2 hours.

I think my dose was pretty high then because I'm still feeling it. I have been vaporizing, but this is a different feeling to be sure. It's not as intense as it was, but it's definitely still there.

Yeah, if you've been vaping along with it, it's gonna extend things for a bit.

Hey dub, GREAT analogy. You nailed it............

Vaping while doing edibles at the same time screwed my tolerance up pretty tight for a while . . .

That thought had already crossed my mind. I only have 6 doses in the freezer, so hopefully it won't affect my tolerance too much. I also plan to save 3 doses for MegaCon next month, so that will space the doses out more.

I had a rather intense effect when I first tried a tincture I made.

I used about 3grams of bud, and some stems I had leftover, and after some of the alcohol was evapped, I ended up with approx 3 shots worth of tincture.

Me and a buddy each had 1 shot, and about 1.5 hours later I was... Affected...
Everything felt "buzzy" and I basically felt super dooper high for the rest of he night until I went to sleep.

I did end up in a bit of a bad headspace for 1/2 an hour or so, but that passed without much of an issue.

I drank my tincture at approx 9.pm, and I still felt kinda woozy (not fully buzzed, but definitely still under the effects) when I woke up the next day at 10.30am. It probably wasn't until 1-2pm that I felt fully normal.
(I was vaping with the tincture as well after about 2 hours)

I could certainly see it being a far less pleasant experience if I wasn't hanging out with friends, since I just kinda talked my way out of that bad headspace.

Oh, the buddy I consumed the tincture with?
He said it didn't really effect him

I crashed real hard during an enduro race by my uncles last summer (boonies of the lower peninsula) and the docs refused go give me pain pills (I would have refused anyway!) for my 3 broken knuckles sprained ankle and mild concussion. Well, long story short, I put about 5 grams of ABV onto a piece of peanut butter toast in the morning and followed it with my uncles homemade "samsonite" (ridiculous oil that you put under your tongue, meant for severe cancer patients). Needless to say, I was pain-free, however I peaked about 2.5/3 hours into it and stayed there all damn day and night, and then some! Way overdosed (I always seem to when making my own) to the point I couldn't sleep because of effects and side effects (room contorted a bit when I laid down). Also wasn't feeling a damn thing and went midnight fishin. If you feel a white knuckle, hold on to the skin of your teeth.

It's funny you brought up tincture, Frederick. I have a bottle of tincture in the refrigerator right now. It has never affected me the way this brownie did. For me, it's a totally different feeling with the brownie, way more intense!

BTW, I slept GREAT last night! It was the first time I got a good night's sleep in a long time! :D

Oh its really bad . . . edible overdose may also induce diarrhea and vomiting as well. Fun stuff :haw:

Hmmm I had cookies from the guy that used to live downstairs. I think I ate 2-3. They didnt kick in right away BUT when it did my whole body was totally relaxed for a few hours.
No diarrhea or vomiting but the next day it was like I ate Ex-lax.cleaned me right out.
Never new weed could be used as a colonic.

edibles can be really different from vaping/smoking, for exaple my first time edibles(brwnies I made myself) I ate probably 1/4 tray or so, wich gave a good high, not too strong but I was superstoned. but a few others that only had a few spoonfulls(the brownies weren't solid enough to slice and take out, so we ate it with spoons) were just as high if not higher(one of them was convinced he was blue and had wolverine-claws)

so you can't just assume your right portion by deducing it from your regular tolerance, some people easily overdo it with edibles, but not everyone.
if I eat edibles I have a certain point where it gets harder to swallow and I have to force myself to swallow, combined with a kind of full-feeling. from experience I know I have to go past this and eat one more piece of cake/brownie/whatever.
I've never overdone it with edibles, but there was one time I baked berownies with just abv, and that gave a really lethargic stone that wasn't much fun(the only fun thing about it was watching tellsell on tv)

I totally get what you are saying. I think my tolerance is still pretty low, but I think these edibles will raise it a tad. Hopefully, spreading the dose out will help with that. I don't think I would ever eat 1/4 of a tray of special brownies, though.

My husband and I use edibles ("medibles") frequently. We have found a source that uses a consistent recipe, with tested meds, using bubble hash. While we know the dosage is consistent each time, our experiences have not been.

The best, most consistent results we've had, were when we had the edible right before eating a meal. After a meal is just barely not as good. Without food is a waste.

I hypothesize that the cannabidoids, being fat-soluble, are really only fully utilized if metabolized along with a fairly fat-heavy meal ("heavy" as to ratio of fat to protein/carbs, not necessarily a "heavy" meal). Even the edibles that are "packaged" as a fat, like oils, butters, and chocolates, seem to do much better with food.

Oh, and with a good meal, I've had the effects last a solid 6 hours.

I ate a brownie last night from the club... then a few hours later I ate the other one. I was stoned from 9pm last night till around 12.30pm today. Food coma right after I made my way to the kitchen:zzz:

I don't think I ever tried edibles close in time to a meal, I don't think I could eat that much...(well, without feeling uncomfortable for a few hours, and strange-hungerlike the rest of the day)

well, our dose of medibles is pretty small. It's not a meal itself, just a small chewy treat.

Our strains of choice are more indica, so I do have reduced appetite for those hours, too.
