It seems there is at least one new thread a week asking "what is the best log vaporizer" or "what vaporizer is right for me. I think its time to compile all these log vape comparisons in a single thread. So here it is...

Post up your log vaporizer comparisons, reviews, questions, and comments.

Here are the threads currently discussing log vaporizers. I will be editing this first post to make the thread more fluid, so maybe we can get some mod help in here and merge some of the threads? Or maybe we should just start fresh.

I want to know about log vaporizers

The land beyond the LB. Which path should I choose?

What vape gives best flavor of material you are vaporizing

Whatever the case...

Let the great log vape comparison begin!

Great Scott!
The only one I've ever used is the Underdog. It hits harder than my DBV used to, while using a fraction of the bud. I've heard the other log vapes are more restrictive air flow, but like I said I never tried one so I just hear stuff on this site. My friends who have used it all think it is the hardest hitting vapes of the dozen or so me and people I know have used. I enjoyed it so much that I apparently piss people off with how much I rave about it (but I feel this thread is appropriate to rave about it since you want reviews specifically about logs). That is my honest review of that vape and I strongly suggest it.

I will post my comparison of the UD, CRZ, and HI in this thread to avoid starting another one as well.

------------------------> Quick Review
First impressions: A lot lighter than I thought it would be! Also the power adapter is a lot bigger than I expected it would be! Dave says that these bigger ones are more hefty and should have a better lifespan than the smaller guys. Sounds good to me :)!. Anyways, woodwork is beautiful, very well done. Mine was white ash and black walnut and they looked amazing sandwhiched together. My specific vape was a goblet so it fit perfectly into my hand and was great for noobies to hold ;). This baby got really hot! It could almost burn my hand, but it felt good. I love it.

A couple sessions later: So I have been using the Underdog exclusively and I will try to quickly compare it to the SSS Aromazap and the MFLB. These two vapes do not compare in cloud production by any means. The UD really pushes clouds to the limit, while extracting the material very efficiently. It has been an amazing 1-2 hitter. You can literally take a 5 second hit, and be good for hours and not want to go back and vape more. With the MFLB and Aromazap this was simply not the case and I had to take hits repeatidly and it could take up to 15 minutes to finish a bowl. With the UD there is no wait time, and the air restriction is so low that you take fat rips. I can barely handle a 7 second hit without any water filtration. It is just so strong and hard to hold in, but gets you slammed. This vape is amazing for noobies because all I have to do is load the stem, and people can just pass it and be uberly surprised by it's gut wrenching hits. I have found that is amazing through water. Unfortunately I don't have the funds to invest in a water pipe but I have used some friends stuff. All I can say is WOW. This thing milks ALMOST like smoke does, of course it is a little more see through, but you can get THICK clouds. With a moderate sized bowl I could fill a 2 foot water pipe about 3-4 times. The 4th would start to cool down. But it is definitely surprising the clouds that this thing could produce, and during these tests I never took the ABV out to stir it up, I just left the goods in for the 4 hits and then changed it out easy. The weight of the UD is nothing like my Aromazap, it is very light and almost feels like air. My Aromazap is clunky an d feels a lot more dense. It is hard to tell which one I like better, but I would definitely say the UD is more convenient to move around, and with the goblet I got it had a nice low profile so it wasn't going to fall over easily. Basically my average bowl size was about a dime (actual dime) size of finely ground bud. I measured several times. I could also get away with bowls the size of a nickel (finely ground material). The UD tore through my bud and kept me very satisfied. The silicon stems aren't that bad, but I would prefer glass. There really isn't any taste with the stems, and I don't find much taste with the herb either. I feel that the Aromazap has better flavor when taking hits and is sweet, while the UD is more harsh. But at the same time the Aromazap doesn't extract all the vapor, it leaves my bud light gold while the UD leaves a dark chocolate ABV which looks pretty evenly vaped by the end. I found myself getting more body stones with the UD because I feel that the fast extraction to such a dark level takes a lot of the CBD's and leaves me couch locked. I kind of liked this for times when I could knock back for the night and not worry about anything, but if I wanted to be functional say during the day, it just wouldn't have worked. I found myself also getting TOO HIGH with the UD because it seriously blasts you in the face, I can't describe it unless you try it. You only pull for a couple of seconds but you take in SO MUCH VAPOR. It is crazy. I can suck on my Aromazap for about 30 seconds and not get as big of a hit as I can get in the UD in 4 seconds. It definitely performs very well. Compared to my MFLB; there is no comparison. The MFLB is wispy and doesn't produce that THICK vapor. Yes you can vape bud to dark but I usually have to find myself stirring the bowl by grinding within my fingers, and this is not the case with the UD. I found myself not dumping each load and crushing because it extracted so fast and normally pretty well (some green specks somethings, but not too bad). I really like the stems because they come with a kit so that you can adjust the screen position to change your bowl size. I didn't experiment too much with this but it wasn't that hard to do and is a nice feature. I also just want to note that Dave's wrapping skills are fantastic and he pads EVERYTHING and wraps everything up nicely. It is great to see someone who truly cares about the condition of their shipped product. Definite +

Overall I really like the UD, unfortunately though, I recently sold it due to it's knock out hits. I have a VERY low tolerance due to my activity level and healthy eating habits and just couldn't handle the thick clouds. I normally smoke alone and found myself getting too high to do anything but just sit back and relax, and it was enjoyable but I wanted the more "active" high I can get with the MFLB. I would definitely recommend UD vaporizers for heavy hitting, 1 hitting, and just a nice piece of art. The aroma capabilities are also awesome. It is a nice touch to such a unique piece. Dave is very kind and informative in all of his posts and emails, and has great customer service. :peace:

General Vaporization Discussion
Vapor related but not model specific

There are reasons why we have not allowed a bunch of comparison threads for similar vapes. While we can revisit the subject of this type of thread, there's currently no place or management approval for it. We allow questions from vapor newbies in Ask FC, and veteran forum members have read and posted in the vape specific threads and in many cases have tried/owned the similar models. If anyone can't see the potential problems with this kind of thread, combining newbie questions with arguments between fans, then they're only looking at it from one side. And doubling or tripling our staff size to deal with threads like this and whole sections devoted to specific vape models isn't something we want to do, and it would come with additional administrative issues as well. Compromising overall forum quality, in one way or another, isn't something we take lightly.

If we decide to allow A vs. B (or C and D) threads, there'll be a place for them, along with posting rules.
