Discontinued Hopper io

In the past, HL has allowed the transfer of warranty to a new owner, for a fee (I think it was $40 or $45. Idk if this is still an option. I think the wording of the warranty has always said it's good for the original purchaser... :shrug:
Y’all aren’t going to believe this. I emailed them yesterday at 4:34 asking about warranty transfer.

‘Hi. I have a new hopper and love it. I purchased a 2nd and am wondering about warranty transfer.
Can the warranty be transferred?”

At 7:30, they responded. 3 hours. For all the complaining me and others have done…three whole hours. anyway…
Hi,

Thanks for contacting us. It cannot be transferred sorry.

Thanks, Hopper Labs Support

Here's one we use. It's surprising that such a small piece can make a big difference.

Is this what you’re looking for? Free shipping. U S.
The furna mouth tips and the tip from my hot glue gun fit very snug on both hopper mouth pieces.

In the pic, left to right…hot glue tip, white rhino tip (is slightly loose but manageable), utilizian 420/421, Davinci wpa, silicone straw tip, 18/14 adapter, pulsar apex wax very snug with enano grip.

the utIilian 420 fits into the pfe like it was made for the the hopper. just the glass part of the mouthpiece with the o-rings. Pic of utilian w mouthpiece assbly shown.

I have an O’Connell jhook but I like this OGB the best! Both vertical & easy to manage w one hand. keep the hopper in the 360 pipe and in the leather sunglasses pouch. No need to remove both. love love love this !

cliffhanger1,
Yeah, they'll both get hot if you're pulling multiple hits with not much time to cool down in between.
Clicking off a few secs before you end your draw can help, but only a little, toward cooling.

Minimalist cooling for mouthpiece;
My wife uses a drip tip (I linked just a few posts back) and I use a simple glass adapter as a heat shield, plus I prefer the feel of glass to that of the metal.
one of these;

Or maybe the most basic (?), cut a 1/2" length of whip tubing and slide it over the end of the pfe. Even 5/16" id works for me, though 3/8" id would work a little easier.

Double check that it's actually in motion from Boulder...otherwise it's just a label.
Fingers crossed for you!
Double checked, Shipping Label created on May 3 ( Ordered on 4/20 ) .

USPS accepted the package on June 24 lol. Will be here Monday. So happy it’s finally otw. Makes me cherish it even more oddly enough.

Amazon should take note, change their 2 day shipping to 2 month shipping. THATS how you get people excited about your products.

Well today makes 10 days, no tracking in my order history that I can see, certainly no shipping email, will I cancel on Monday??...
Ooph, stay strong brother. Give up all hope and bam! You’ll have a tracking number. The hopper master race is an exclusive club, the wait with the unknown time frame makes you feel all the more special.

I will try that! I have a few of those drip tips laying around. It gets hot for me on even the first hit, maybe I have sensitive lips.

Also, fyi the maxpower adapater is back on sale. I ordered mine last night. https://maxvapornail.com/collections/grasshopper

Excellent point! However it's not just cooling IMO. Might not be much THC coming after clicking off, but it seems like there is. The hit seems to continue as the load and mouthpiece cool down for 2-3 seconds. Sometimes, if you lose your lip lock too soon you see vapor escaping (yikes!). You can only get more THC if you "suck" the heat out of it......

So after a couple of days of use, I have to say how impressed I am with this thing. Unfortunately combusted twice, but the fact that I could combust while drawing through a bong amazed me. The hits get DENSER the harder you pull. I had been enamored with a dynavap since april but now it's all io all the time. For the first time in years my e-nano is unplugged and once my maxpower adaptor comes in, this is going to be my daily driver which means I have to order a backup. I'm seriously blown away by the performance of this thing. Using a drip tip plugged into the performance front end while on the go makes it a great portable vape as well. I'm very happy with this thing, I with the company could just get their act together so I could recommend it.

I thought you were waiting on a 4/20 order, or something longer term than this?

Yeah this is the order, placed I think 4/25 or so? Blue IO... Remember two weeks ago they replied to my email saying they would be shipping it within the next 10 days. It has now been past 10 business days and my order page has not updated at all to include any tracking, while I've received no shipped email either, so yeah probably going to have to cancel for refund this week because they lie so much?? I mean I'd like to think: I've waited this long, it should ship any day, it would be a shame to cancel if it's about to ship after all... However they make it pretty difficult to have any confidence in them...

Ordered a battery on June 21st. Arrived today, after 7 days. That's the fastest I've received anything from HL in 5 1/2 years. The Order Status still says In Progress.

I had been looking for wooden tips but did not see them easily available (in US).
If anyone has US source for those, let us know...

how tight do those fit? i stopped by a local e-cig shop and they gave me a couple of drip tips for free ... they fit ok but are a little loose ...

I re-opened a warranty claim on this too-hot body HL sent me last week, told them I believed it is not running to spec, meaning, waaaay too hot.
This is one of the more interesting replies I've had yet on an issue;

"Please return that one to us and we will lower its rated temp."

I had no idea this was a thing. I will send it today. My guess is that they'll send another re-built body...but HL has surprised us many times over the years.

For this "Where's my color Ti?" issue, one pattern that seems to work is to send an email requesting a refund. ;)

I've only tried a couple of 510 drip tips in the pfe, yes, they can be a little loose. After a couple of uses, resin holds them a little better.
I have read that d-t's with 2 o-rings fit better than those with single ring.

Anyone else combusting?
Yup. My 4/20 io can combust even as low as 3½. I've come to terms with it, though. Rather than requesting an RMA and wondering if I'll ever see the unit again, I just stay below 3 for the most part. I'm using a Lotus VaporScope and if I decide to crank the temp up a bit more I've found that I can sense when the draw is going to end in combustion by observing the density of the vapor and the flavor and I immediately shut it off, before it turns to smoke. It's okay, though — producing plenty of good vapor at the lower temps.

It's nice that you're getting by with it as is. Combustion on level 3 1/2 sounds like the temperature must be way out of spec. Don't see how HL could adjust the heating element range, maybe the backend is a rheostat and can be adjusted to lower the range.

Will it combust if you use it without the Lotus VaporScope? I've wondered if I could make mine combust by turning it to max on a fresh load, but this is probably unlikely (and I would probably freak out). I'm wondering if the glass attachment might cause you to pull longer and get the device hotter. I think I read where someone else is having combustion issues with a bong-style device.

Imo, a hopper should not combust material in any use-case. That is, in part, what we are paying for with this state-of-the art, temperature regulated device. Long hits, short hits, native or bong should be do-able within the set temperature range.
I'm aware that some of this is not "exact science" stuff, that there will be some variation in results even if only because bowl temperature is a difficult thing to measure, real-time., etc. etc.

Because I have another hopper and several other vapes, I'm taking HL up on the offer and we'll see what happens.

I thought about adjusting my use like you are doing and was reminded of the Milaana I sold because I didn't want to have to monitor, to "modulate" the temperature manually on the fly with only an on/off switch for control.
And, I'm going to use this body + a spare body interchangeably, with a single back end (who's temp adjustment is nearly frozen in place at 4). The spare is normal, (a lot cooler than this problem body) and I would much prefer consistency, so's I don't have to track them as "different"

Hey, anyone else with a back end that is very hard to turn (temp dial)?

Hey, anyone else with a back end that is very hard to turn (temp dial)?
so for me, I've only combusted when I pack my load too tight and take a very long extended draw through my bong at a very fast inhale. The device is doing everything it can to regulate its temperature, but if you have a significant air flow restriction with your material, that air gets concentrated and hotter, causing the material to combust. This is consistent with what I've seen on my log vape usage, where if I pack my gong too tight and draw too hard, even at temps I normally don't combust with, I combust. Are people combusting with native hits or bong hits?
