I'll second the silicone. ^

It picks up dirt and other particles, but I honestly hate the more stiff, clear tubing a lot of vaporizers have now a days.

1/4" ID, 3/8" OD, 1/16" Wall- that silicone is $2.19/ft. It's nice but not necessary. Food or beverage grade is fine and it's at least a $1/ft. cheaper.

ok so this website confuses me. if silicone is 2.19/ft and it says it comes in 10ft increments only why is it that I can add 1 or 2 of these to my cart and go through the checkout process?

This doesn't make sense. Do I have to put 10 in the quantity box in order for my order to go through?

I hope someone has experience with this cuz this looks awesome. But gotta figure out these prices!

Thanks

Tubing

(Okay, I searched and found no specific thread on it.... but I'm always trying to re-find where to order/and the dimensions so I thought a it's own thread might be appropriate)

Where is the place to get it at again? USA Plastic or something?

I was reading a post by max yesterday that had the dimensions but now I can't find it, and I've been searching for a good 10 minutes.

I was thinking of just ordering this with an Amazon order I am placing soon. If I remember correctly, those are the proper dimensions, yes? For VaporWarez tubing at least... is it a decent deal?

What kind of tubing does everyone like? I've tried a few different kinds but the one I always like best is the kind of opaque silicone tubing that originally came with my 'Warez. I like it's flexibility and feel, even if it does like to collect dirt. The other stuff I have tried was way too stiff and kind of made it hard to relax when vaping.

I like the tubing you linked to, it has a max temp of 500. I know vapor cools as it goes along the path, but safer is always better in my book. I liked alot of the Tygon medical grade stuff, this seems to be of similar quality.

But those dimensions look right? They seem right; 3/8" ID x 1/2" OD x 1/16" Wall Thickness. Never know though.

VaporWarez. I want the same stuff that is used with my 'Warez....

It's not around, otherwise I'd try to measure it myself.

Wish I could help but I don't own one of those. Your whip does look different from the normal VW's right? or am i just imagining things?

I like Tygon Chemflour.

Can't help you with the sizes.

On a side note, I am amazed that the Extremes continue to come with the Kuriyama K010 tubing despite comments about safety (see specs for more info). It kinda makes me worry about other parts, but  ...versatility, performance & affordability remain strong points).

vtac has the right size for most box vapes. The size in the Amazon link (3/8, 1/2) is the size you get with the Surfer and will work with the warez. Vicki bought 20 ft. of tubing from 7th Floor. It fits. Sure can't beat the price-75 cts/ft for a ten ft. length. Very flexible too.
I'd say the Tygon food and dairy tubing would probably be closest to the warez tubing. You can check the prices for silicone. Your Amazon price may be OK. Silicone is expensive. Food grade is only about $1/ft.

To those who have gone the silicone route--is it worth it? Is it worth ~$30? How easily does it get dirty, and how hard is it to clean?

I think so. I'm about to order some from that US Plastic (probably tomorrow) and get several feet of the best silicone tubing.

It's a matter of opinion really. It's relatively easy to clean, it's just more flexible and 'flesh like'. It's also opaque and turns a dull yellow color, whereas on the more transparent tubing you can really see all the 'stuff' inside (some might prefer that or not).

Maybe order some silicone tubing from vaporizer vendor site (should cost 4-5 bucks) and try it out. :)

Spiral, I was talking about the green screen you had, that is priceless! Hahaha, love the creativity there!

On a side note, regardless if you get the food grade, or super high end tygon/chemflour tubing, (I'll use the toilet paper analogy here) you only need a couple of feet so why not just play it safe, and get the high end, high temp stuff? The majority of the money spent on vaporizing isn't on the machine, or the accessories, and is most likely the medicine that we use it for. I couple of bucks here and there to save on tubing just seems to be counter intuitive if you spent X amount on a high end vaporizer

HB-To those who have gone the silicone route--is it worth it? Is it worth ~$30? How easily does it get dirty, and how hard is it to clean?
I use Tygon Chemflour tubing mostly because it has the best specs (temp/breakdown/safe cleaning methods). I feel that the taste difference is negligible. However, I would even go so far as to say that even the ceramic heating element and the quality/make-up of the air entering the unit affect flavor. I could tell better if my herbs weren't so damn aromatic  .

The question that I can not answer, HB, is how far do you want to go (my advice: don't go too far...just far enough--going too far can drive you crazy ;) )

Also, be aware that US plastics has different minimum orders (10', 25', etc.) for different types of tubing.

Hope this helps.

Have a Great New Year All....
