What vaporizer to buy

Hi,

I'm new to the whole vaporizer thing, I've smoked weed for years but never really got into using a vape. I have just decided to quit smoking though, which means I don't want to smoke spliffs now too, so I thought the only way I could smoke weed is by using a vaporizer.

Does anyone have any recommendations of what I could buy? (preferably don't want to spend more than 50). There are so many to choose from, I literally have no idea where to start.

Thanks

Some things to consider...

are you looking for something you can use on the go or something for predominately home use?

are you against using lighters to achieve vaporization?

how important is stealth to your vaporizer?

How often will you use any product you intend to buy?

How much do you realistically have to spend? Your options are extremely limited at 50pounds which is abotu 80$ american.

I would agree.

Also, do you vape by yourself or do you intend to use this vape with others?

Hi,

Its for home use

I'm not against it, but from what I understood about it I didn't think you could use a lighter

I live with friends so stealth is no issue

I will use it some evenings, and mostly weekends

Well I can spend more than 50 - if the product was something I liked. Money is not really a massive issue, but I don't want to spend a lot just for the sake of it. (My main priority is quiting smoking, and in the past it's always been smoking weed that has got me back into cigarettes, which is why I am opting to buy a vaporizer this time, hence why the price of the vape isn't a big deal)

Almost everyone in my house smokes weed so I guess everyone will want to use it at some point!

Yeah one of my friends had that. I was hoping to spend a bit less though to be honest. Having a thick vape isn't really an issue for me, I just want something to get high!

the vaporgenie is in your budget and a known vape. its a lighter powered vape. it comes in a few iterations. some glass, some metal, some wood.

the magic flight launch box is nearly on your budget and is a great little vaporizer.

The thing you have to remember is that, to a degree, you get what you pay for. You can get a good vaporizer for <50 but it will be a lighter powered vape. These tend to use quite a lot of butane - which is an added cost to consider. The advantages of a lighter based vaporizer is that they are pretty portable, usually cheap to buy in the first place and tend to have a long life (unless it's all glass like the glass Vapocane and you've got thumbs for fingers.) Downsides are that the learning curve can be quite steep, some of the lighter based vapes can really guzzle butane and they're not great for friends new to vaping. All that said I personally really like lighter based vapes and think they can be a good and cheap intro to vaping as well as being great back-up units. Some vaporizers to consider around the 50 mark are - VaporGenie (or VG Coli for a cheaper option), Lithe, gn0me, Vapocane and Vaporstar (last 2 both need a bong).

Other things to consider are upping your budget a bit. As caseball2051 says the MFLB might be an option, or check out the Vapolution thread, they have a great offer for FC'ers at the mo with the a great set for $99 (+$25 for shipping) which brings the whole package delivered to your door for under 80. Then you have a nice tabletop, electric powered vaporizer with an all glass path that's versatile and functional.

Best advice is get stuck into the forum, have a good old read up on the suggestions posted and as you research you'll formulate a picture of what you actually want from a vape which will ultimately lead you to your new purchase.

The magic flight box seems to be spot on what I was looking for.

Does anyone know if I should go for this one or Vapir NO2 Vaporizer (this also seems to be a similar price).

This is the truth!

I'd recommend you buy yourself a "desktop" (home use) vape and is a heavy hitter. once you have one of these then you will no doubt be hooked and begin collecting the damn things! :p

I think a heavy hitter is what you need now. then worry about portable (your gonna need one! lol) or w/e other criteria you want to fill. flavour, efficiency, stealth, size of hit etc...

for now though as a big hitter category I would suggest:
- SSV (silver surfer)/DBV(Da Budda)/LSV(Life saber) (all 7th floor products, different prices and features, but the same element heats the core of all 3!) I suggest the SSV! :D they can be had for 190USD on ebay for a "blemished" unit sold direct from the makers. no bag included though. or buy from a seller on FC, Grateful guys is where i got mine, and with the 15% coupon it was the same money as the ebay one but with a bag and "retail".

- Underdog vapes (get a "lost dog" (you have to email him to see em. they are 150 USD) to save money, unless you wanna go hog wild with getting something custom done.)

- Supreme vape (i have not used this one but it's on my to use list :D) it's for using though glass.

- Arizer Solo, make sure you get a 106 or newer model. i hear those are the ones most well recieved. can also but used on the go as long as stealth isn't an issue. I have also not tried this one personally)

I think i still liekd my SSV over my UD, but the UD hits like a champ!!! gets me where i want to be in no time!

I vote for mflb. Just be sure that this one needs you to really focus on draw technique. But I think some bigger home unit like SSV is what you want (from reading your posts). MFLB is cheap, solid and does its work well, not that fast and comfy like home unit, but for a stealthy portable it does some impressive work. If you go MFLB, i recommend buying PA also, that can make it perform great.

if you decided to go with a larger home unit and you planned to share ask your buddies to throw down some money. you guys could get a nice versatile unit that way.

Right well having read all your posts I think the best value for money is going are going to be the vapolution vape at 105 delivered and the MFLB is very tempting too at 90. Thanks for all the help

mufthc,
The MFLB is a good place to start, but it really only works well if you plan to use it as a personal vape. It does not work well for group vaping. Get a whip or log vape for that.

I started with the MFLB and loved it until I got an Iolite for portable and then an Aromazap for my daily home driver. Now the MFLB seems weak by comparison.

I say get a log vape. I switched from smoking long term and found the switch to be much easier than I would have thought. I started with the Hebalaire. Worked well, but with the loading and unloading, coupled with the heat up time (even though it was a short heat up time), I usually just smoked since it was easier and faster. Since getting the CRZ, I have zero reasons to light my shit on fire, and am completely satisfied.
