VAS rumblings..... Do I need a ball vape?

Thanks for all the replies and advice!

I will probably get a ball vape but I'm not sure it will be this year. I feel like I'm near the pinnacle of the best portable battery vapes with the TB2 and the Frolic so that use-case is taken care of for now.

I love my current desktops but it will be time to upgrade and explore soon. I will be keeping my eye on the ball-vape space and maybe Christmas will come early 🤔😆. It's still really hard to choose from my list!

I've read through this hoping for an insight that might spark a desire for a tethered desktop lungbuster and so far my vas is quiet.
I find balls to be too fiddly to want to deal with and I never got on with a tethered vape and using injectors never turned my crank so I'm an outlier for sure.

Take your time, the Frolic on a bong delivers. Once you've picked a ball vape, make an informed purchase.
Thanks! This is sound advice and I'll definitely take my time to enjoy the new Frolic and mull things over.

Yeah I hear you. One of the reasons I got the Couchlog as my first desktop was because you don't have to fiddle with anything and it's all self-contained and super versatile. The fact that it's a log vape *and* uses balls inside the heater was a big reason I chose it.

Still tethered, but you might like a log that would work with your DVs and Camouflets. Woodscents, CouchLog, UD Alpha and Heat Island 7/16s all fit Dynavap tips (some better than others) and the Couchlog and Alpha fits Convector tips (Alpha fits the new one, too). It adds convection use for DVs and does a simple, straightforward heating for the Convectors.

log is on the edge of the radar
is there such a thing as a cheaper 12V version, thought about a enano for reasonable but would prefer 12v portability
$400 dyna heaters don't stay on the radar for long

Fwiw, the 7/16ths Heat Island is a great value (~$100 for the bamboo build) and it fits more DV tips than the Woodscents does (woodscents tastes better, I'd say). It's a really good log, I've kept mine in use since I got it. Easy recommendation for anyone with Dynavaps.

He's not wrong @budski 😄. For someone with an extensive DV and Camouflet vape collection, you will absolutely love hitting those tips right off of a good pure-convection log.

A whole new way to use almost your whole vape collection. It'll double your productivity!

Or it'll halve your productivity because you'll be so baked all the time.

@TigoleBitties i also have all three. I use the Aether at a low temp sipper so I haven't run into any of the downsides of putting a quartz insulator between the coil and balls. IMO mixing metal and glass is a poor attempt at combining the best of both materials, which is zirconia. The hornet is worthwhile, although i don't really see it as that flexible if a ZX is also involved. At that point the only value in the Hornet is its conduction bowl, which is amazing btw. IMO thin walled conduction bowls are <3.

FWIW i've been into convection and flavor lately after amassing gear for conduction experiments lol. This past week I travelled with a ball vape and glass for the first time. I brought the ZX and Hornet. I didn't even have the Hornet hooked up some of the time. I also noticed that once I started using the z bowl in the middle shelf i basically stopped using the hornet. the Hornet conduction bowl is between the small and middle Z bowl shelves.

I am considering just travelling with the ZX, Calypso, and TM2 after my last trip.
