Out to lunch
OK boys and ....hey, did you guys notice we ain't got no girls here? :/ I guess it's just us boys with the toys.
Anyway, the VaporSnake - It bites. Sorry, couldn't resist. I first saw the Snake on the Vaporstore site, and my reaction was . I knew it must be a decent vape. Vaporstore doesn't sell junk. It was pricy at $299 though ($250 now). I wasn't that curious. Then I heard from this guy who had used and owned a lot of different models and liked the Snake best due to the vapor hits. Now I was really curious but it was still 3 bills. Some months later I ran across a Vaporstore demo at half price and caved in to my curiousity.
It's ceramic. Good material as long as you don't break it. The base is made from a mold and the snake part is hand made. You can see how it works from the youtube vid. The bowl is cut from the neck and just slides in and out. It's the best part of the vape by far, IMO. The 1" screen is so easy to put in/take out of the bowl it makes me sick that I don't like it. The other bowl feature that I love/hate is that the ceramic heater is above the bowl, so you can leave the bowl in place for hours without losing any vapor through ambient heat. There's no whip. Just tubing that goes into the ceramic base. If it's sitting beside you, all you have to do is pick up the tube and hit it. I can't think of an easier vape to use.
The bad parts for me-
1) There are a few inches of hot ceramic below the snake's head, right where you'd be inclined to grab it. They spell out 'HOT' in the hot area to remind you, but that just fucks up the looks IMO.
2) Too much water. Made too much noise and it just didn't do anything for me. In moving it around I ended up spilling water a few times too. You'd need a really big hand to one-hand this vape.
3) Too much air. It irritated my throat. Made me reach for my water bottle after nearly every hit. I couldn't get a big vapor hit without getting way too much air to suit my taste. I much prefer the tiny heater cover opening on the SSV. The large airway on the Snake was the real deal breaker.
If you like bongs you may like the Snake. Although I love the bowl aspects, the overall package just doesn't suit me.
